This is so sad.

Mr. Updike was a great writer, father and supporter of reading and his community. As I recall, yearly Mr. Updike would donate books and help sell them at his local church bazaar. I had the chance to speak with him and he was very kind.

A couple of weeks later I bumped into him at the local Staples - and yes - He was buying paper! I so admire people that seem unaffected by fame.

What a contribution and all his volumes speak volumes about his spirit and skill.

Happy New Year!

Great pics! Just wish you were there when we arrived on the 30th. We had a great 5 days there and now we are in Bath which is just fab.

I too enjoy the Westin's, I've stayed at the ones in NYC and elsewhere. Being homeless in Boston, as you know, we have got to sample many hotels. I was glad to learn there is a W coming to Boston.

We recently stayed at Aloft in Lexington which is also in the Westin family. It was a great place and a really cool concept. The fact that they had a promotional Airstream in the lot didn't hurt! There is also a longer stay hotel called elemental there which looked great.

You can't fool us. We see you with your family and we've seen the Disney videos. Be honest, one of the main reasons you had kids is so that you wouldn't be embarrased at Birthday Parties at Chuckie Cheese. Happy Birthday!

We have a strong feeling that your Grandmother felt/feels similar feelings about you. It's always a challenge when someone leaves the earthplane - It also enhances our awareness of the importance of the ones we still share this physical space with.
