Thanks, Marie and Jennifer! The thing is until I have the darn medal in my hands, I won't feel as if it's true. Does that sound crazy?  LOL  And ... I don't believe in curses and such, but SO many unexplained things have happened with this book that I can't help but think that I woke something up when I wrote it.

But ... I PROMISE ... it's safe to read. The curse won't affect Sam's fans. :()

Karma, golden rule, payback, yes, yes, yes! I do try to treat others as I'd like to be treated, but when they don't reciprocate, I just keep doing what I know to be right and eventually things even out in the end. :)

Thanks for your comments, Jim. Certainly didn't intend to come across as a crusader. My point is that with so many other concerns out there, they chose to change/quit teaching, the easiest rule to remember. Don't  you find that just a little ridiculous? ;)

I agree, Danielle. Of all the things to worry about, leave I before E alone!! :)

 

Ha! True, true Elizabeth. Can't see how we'd be able to write if we're not editors too. :)  Like them or not, rules are important ... although ... at times they're made to be broken. LOL 

 

My family came to the States from Argentina when I was four. Although my father could read and write English (actually, he knew 4 languages), my parents hired a tutor to teach them to speak the language. I and my siblings learned it through our interactions at school (no special programs back in the late 1950’s – early 1960’s for kids like us). I have memories of being in kindergarten and listening to the other children and the teacher and wondering what in the heck they were talking about. Eventually we all leaned to speak English and we’re now fluent in both languages (English & Spanish). However, those early experiences made for some very interesting conversations around the dinner table.
