You can view the donkeys in Greece in my 4/19/07 post Encountering Greece Part II--Three Islands. It's the fifth photo.

I'm in the process of sorting through photos and writing articles about my October trip to Tunisia. I'll let you know when I post the article that includes the donkey in it. In addition to the photo I will post, I saw a number of donkeys near the Berber troglodyte dwellings we visited, but I didn't photograph them.

No, I'm not familiar with Barbara Mielke, but her work sounds interesting. I think I would like it.

Thanks for the recommendation. I visited Washington state in 1994, but didn't get to Tacoma. I hope to get back to the area and maybe we'll visit Fort Nisqually.

Nice photo. You're looking at the donkey, and it seems that the donkey is eyeing the photographer.

Is this your donkey? I like donkeys--I've seen and photographed them in Greece and in Tunisia.

The one on the far left looks as if it is eyeing his/her neighbor's. I wonder what it was like as your son prepared the five portions. Did he have five cats around his legs, jumping on the counter, meowing for him to hurry?

May they all enjoy their food and stay healthy.

Like you, I have tracked these short days leading to the winter solstice. Afterward, we still have short days for a few weeks, but I feel more hopeful. I follow the sunrise and sunset times in the paper appreciating the minute or two of daylight we gain.

La Gatita, these photos show you as an outstanding Cat Inspector of Christmas Trees manager. You could put these photos in a Power Point presentation and make the rounds of cat hangouts to instruct cats on how inspect a Christmas tree.

I especially like the second last photo because it shows off that exciting stripe down your back and tail.

Thanks for posting this. I wish the newspapers would include it sometimes when they report on climate change. Having worked in the environmental management area, I've been seeing charts like this since the early 1990s, but a lot of people have not yet seen the data presented visually like this.
