What an awful experience, I'm so sorry.
That kind of treatment is unacceptable, and you should report this to the supervisor/manager.
I would also contact a bigwig from the company.
We must be advocates for ourselves and other who suffer from mental illness, this is the only way to make a change...to educate.
Speak up, and you may save someone else from discrimination.

I'd love to hear about any updates on this!

I'm bipolar and have never gotten myself into financial ruin.
The most expensive item I've purchased while manic, was a printer.
