I have seen the disabled do some amazing things. I recently returned from a sales meeting and was impressed by one young lady that received a top sales award. She was in a wheelchair and paralyzed from the neck down. She guided the chair with her chin and blowing into a control stick. She does have an assisstant to help with the paperwork. She sold real estate before insurance. If she can do that, what are we non-handicapped people capable of?

I don't mind paying the taxes, just that the public has little say as to where it goes.
Bush is spending billions for a war that over 60% of population is opposed. Do we really need this many nuclear subs? How about the $400 toilet seats and $200 screwdrivers? There's a few individuals and corporations that are getting rich on our dollars.

I believe that the Bible is a spiritual guide and life manual inspired by a Supreme power but compiled and written by men. As men are fallable, my belief it that not all the compilation is 100% accurate if you were to include modern scientific evidence. The writers wrote to the best of their knowledge for the time. The Bible also includes many traditions, tales, fables and prose from the earliest days of literacy. There is much of the Bible that I don't really feel needs to be included (someone begat someone who begat someone else......etc.) but it comes with the package. The Bible has been translated, re-translated, and re written so many times that I'm sure today's version has developed over the centuries. There is much missing from the Bible and much has been culled out by people in positions of power that had their own agenda over the years. They have recently found many writings by the followers of Jesus that were not included in today's version. Some of these groups were considered heretics in their day. Jesus's own brother considered him a prophet but not supernatural. He should know him pretty well.
It would be great if someone could be truly inspired to incorporate many of our religious works and mabe find a way to end all this religious strife.
I have read many works from several diferent religions and when you get to the core of the meaning they are essentially the same. So why have so many people died over religion? I respect anyone for their own beliefs whether Buddist, Hindu, Moslem, Taoist, Jewish or even atheist (that is in itself a belief).
I feel that people need a spiritual guide and the appropriate guide it the one they chose. I can tell no one that they are wrong with the exception of those that condone harm to others.

Cute!
In my photos you can find a picture of a ceramic garaffe that was handed down from a deceased aunt to my mother then to me when she passed away. The original was painted a horrific black and orange from the 70's style. I took it upon myself to re-paint the creatures as real as my unartistic self could do. The "animals" took a place on a table in my garage for over a year as my wife and I gradually worked on the "piece".
I scoured the library for photos to attempt to get the coloring right on both. The final product is a pair of silent pets that are on display in our living room. My son, Neal was eight at the time and named the pair "Dimitri and Alexander".
I swear the eyes follow you as you walk through the room.

This kind of thing is what nightmares are made of. In the top photo, the "girl" in lt blue on the far left and and the second from right (in bright red) look pretty good.
The "lady" with the rose needs to cover that stuff up.

I have had primarily florescent bulbs in my houses since they were ~$24 each. It took me about 3 years to convert. Some don't last long but the majority give me good service. The prices are coming down quickly and getting close to $1 each. In the winter our electric bill is about $35 (even running the heater fan).

Okay Mike. Is this acceptable?
I worked in hospitals for 35 years and have all my senses that detect such offenses so numb that practically nothing grosses me out. The smell that still tortures me is the smell of emesis or bile. UGH! I always feel like hurling.

I still don't understand how these people get away with this stuff. I guess if you exclude the oppression and brutality, it is not really that different than people that date (and have sex) with multiple partners. Let's just spread a little STD's around and have children not knowing who are the fathers.
I wouldn't want more than one wife. That would make the women the majority on issues and take away the equality in the household.
