I'm not convinced that Obama has spent $900,000 on this and this alone.  Is your source confidential or something?  Perhaps linking to your source can shed a little light on this little quagmire we have here.  This is the main reason I remain unimpressed.  I had thought that you were above innuendo Colonel.

Being that you can't even speculate as to when his birth certificate was forged- which if it was before studying at Occidental, he wouldn't have needed to apply as a foreign student; and being that his birth certificate has been certified legitemate having not only been written on the same stationery as the other births in the hospital at the time of his birth but having all peripheral information being accurate and verifiable, I am quite satisfied that Barack Obama is a natural born citizen of the United States.  Don't you think you should know more about what your sources purport if you are going to spread this kind of information?

In order for this idea of Obama not being a natural born citizen to have any creedence you would have to think you  can prove that his birth certificate was forged near the actual time of his birth.  He was considered a citizen as a child on through to high school and even in the mainland of America, when he went to school at Occidental College in Los Angeles and on to Chicago and Harvard.  Forgery of his birth certificate any time after near the time of his birth and the idea is nonsense.

Colonel, the question may live on but the debate is dead.  Insinuating that the $900,000 spent on legal fees is over his birth certificate is a little disingenuous don't you think?  People who keep lawyers pay them especially people who run for President.

Many of these people can't be tried in a court of law because they were tortured and the coerced testimony is the only evidence against them.  That's an automatic not-guilty in a system of justice where you are innocent until proven guilty.  Some of these people are just "dangerous" while being guilty of no crimes whatsoever (except "thoughtcrime").  If released, they may take up arms as we've seen happen in South Africa.  That's not Obama's fault, but the wingnuts would just have a field day with that when all of this would have been avoided if they treated the detainees humanely.

Jeff, it seems that I mistook you for another Jeff, and not only that, I cited the wrong report that determined the effectiveness of Abu Ghraib and Gitmo in enemy recruitment.  It was a National Intelligence Estimate while Bush and CHeney were still in office that determined that FACT, and what you don't seem to be getting is that it is not that we held people there, but that we TORTURED PEOPLE THERE.  You were missing the obvious and that's why no one seemed to be answering your question when they really were.

How many times have I referred you to the bipartisan, McCain-led Senate Select Committee's on Intelligence findings, Jeff?  Are you really THAT dense.  It is not just Obama deciding to say something out of his ass.  This was investigated by both Republicans and Democrats, and since you claim to be some kind of moderate or conservative Democrat that should give you some kind of hard-on or something.

Then point me in the direction of the evidence of Iran's nuclear WEAPONS program.  Show me a history book that puts our actions in South America into a light that helped the people and didn't implement dictators.  Were you upset about the events of September 11, 2001?  The people of Chile (and the rest of South America) certainly weren't thrilled with the events of September 11, 1973 which was a far more dastardly act where tens of thousands were killed and resulted in hundreds of thousands being imprisoned and tortured.  The way I see it, we cannot afford to be hypocrites any longer.  You're somewhat of a pragmatist.  Do you not see how actions directly influence the future?  Or do you prefer the model of perpetual war?
