Christine...actually, vomit was only in the first few pages and was the way the virus was spread. After that, the book is all about finding the people responsible...which is the suspense I enjoy...

Christine, re the vine program...I just had a similar situation of how to decide...so I did this: went through the list looking for authors I've read...when that didn't work, I went back skimming for genre... (especially this last list was quite "literary" and so, finally, because I would normally look for mystery, suspense, etc., I had to skim the book blurb.

Now remember, Vine is my "fun reading" so I tend to look for what I would read if I were looking in a bookstore and going to the proper book shelves. On the other hand, if you are trying to build up a library of "books you should read" I'd choose the literary grouping...

By the way, I've also decided I'm going to have to cut back on Vine...I can't seem to stop buying the books I would routinely read by my favorite authors! Alas, too many books on my "unread" shelf...lol!!!!! Such a dilemma!

Cassandra, I had a personal interest in choosing the book via the Vine Program. While it was an entirely different situation than the ones I've known, it does verify that all individuals are unique and have much to contribute!

Michael, You may know that Shadrach is a member here on Gather. I suggest you check with him/vPublishing. The book is now available in e-book format, but you might want to wait for the hard copy...I know I found myself making notes! LOL

Nyota, without going to check out any of the links, I wanted to comment, first, on your method of getting conversations going! Wow...you go girl!

I am one of the ones who is ignorant, other than to know that it is celebrated! However, I wanted to share that, without knowing what the background is, I have already noted in my own life that African Americans, as a group, seem to be much more nurturing and supportive to each other than in many races, including mine! I think Jews may have the same connectiveness, but I have not known individuals personally to make that anything more than intuitive.

Thanks for initiating an interesting conversation!
