Therein lies the problem. We can't do ANYTHING in moderation in this country. It's all or nothing. Maximum dose or none at all. Even water can kill you if you drink to much.

Piracy is illegal. It is immoral. It is unethical. Not having the money is a BS excuse. I don't have the money to buy a new car...does that mean it is OK for me to go steal one?

Frankly, this is not really "new" gals. Unfortunately, the "cult of breast cancer" (Read Blind-Sided to know what I mean) has never wanted to address the simple fact that mammograms are barbaric and ineffective. For every case of real cancer actually found, hundreds of women are put through the trauma of a false positive. Instead of turning this into an attack on Obama and "rationing", we should be turning our anger on the entire medical establishment that has failed to move this issue forward.

My boss said it best. "If men had to have their balls squeezed between two cold metal plates to look for testicular cancer, you damn well can guarantee they would find a better treatment."

Though I will say, Linda, I agree with you. I have never had a flu shot. The FLU does not kill people. Complications from the flu kill people. People who don't stay home and get rest and stay hydrated. Old people with weak immune systems. The flu itself is not life threatening. The common cold can lead to complications if you don't treat it. So can heartburn.

I find it sad that we have to have a vote just to allow the bill to be debated. Wasn't the original point of Congress to debate issues on the floor like intelligent people? I'm glad they got over this ridiculous hurdle. Now the real work begins.

Unfortunately, Vincente, the Republicans aren't interested in compromise. Compromise to them means killing the bill and keeping the status quo. The bill has already adopted several Republican points (such as the stronger language regarding abortion and illegal immigrants). But nothing is enough.

Unfortunately, this is part of a greater disconnect that goes beyond politics. Its the entire tabloid mentality. Nobody pays attention to "legitimate" news any more. Everyone needs to be inflammatory, sensational, "edgy" or controversial. Because THAT is what sells, and everyone is trying to sell.

The Newsweek cover was tacky. That interior image, which I had not seen, is even more tacky. But unfortunately it is a reflection of what attacts attention and sells magazines.

Until we stop buying, the media (left, right, or otherwise) will keep selling.

The plan has been in effect since 1991. Insurance companies do not generally add things to plans unless they are required to by law or the employers requests it.

Robert, you have a revisionist view of history. I guess you forgot Constantine. I guess you forgot the Holy Roman Empire, which at one point covered all of Europe and parts of Asia. That sure as hell wasn't a peaceful takeover. I guess forgot the Inquisition and the witchcraft trials. I'd also suggest you brush up on your history of the root causes of the Crusades and what was really going on.

I realize you are a hypocrite, but please don't make me start quoting Bible verses where God tells his followers to cut down women and children and babes in the womb. It just gets messy.

Do you know what happens in states with term limits? You get musical chairs. A politician serves in the state house for X number of years, then moves to the senate for X number of years, then moves to a state appointed fill-in-the-blank.

Honestly, this is just another band-aid. The real problem is that we reward the bad behavior of politicians. Nobody pays attention to actual legislation...only sound bites. Nobdy reads bills, only the highly edited interpretations from their special interest groups of choice. Hell, people don't even UNDERSTAND the legislative process. We still have people calling the latest healthcare bill Obamacare. Newsflash. The president did not write the legislation. He set a few guidelines of what he wanted it to do and told Congress to write it. You want to get pissed, call it Pelosicare. It would at least be accurate.

Not that the American people care about accuracy either. They would rather be "right" in their own minds than accurate with the facts.

I'm really trying to understand where that tail is coming from...that looks uncomfortable....

The rest of it looks awesome, particularly the combra-like crown around her head. The tail just looks unbalanced.
