The combination of Robert Duvall and Tommy Lee Jones in this movie is perfect. I have to admit that when I read the book I could not figure out which actor would be playing which cowboy. Either man could have fit into the roll of either cowboy. But once I saw the film, I realized that Robert Duvall is Gus. He was perfect for the roll. I also loved Angelica Huston as Clair. The romance between Clair and Gus heartwarming and heartbreaking.

I am looking forward to summer when I can possibly grow my own organic veggies or enroll in a CSA. I try to buy organic as much as possible and do a lot of shopping at Trader Joe's. But I don't always trust chain stores to be telling me the truth and prefer to shop at farmer's markets and other local produce stands. It is worth it to keep the chemicals out. Both my parents have died of cancer and I feel there was a strong environmental component to both incidences. We cannot fall into a trap of believing we are only susceptible to inherited diseases. There are too many environmental components and I can reduce my risk by paying attention to what goes in and on my body.

I am so fortunate that I have been allowed to knit during clinical team meetings at my agency. We have three hours of them a week and I find I focus so much better if my hands are busy. We also have a distinct way of processing that keeps us focused on accomplishing a lot in a short period of time. It helps when the team is dedicated to the process such as this one is. I have been in business meetings in the past where my mind would wander and I would leave without a clue of what had happened in the meeting.

Lloyd, just because of who Thoreau was doesn't mean that the philosophy of living simply is not a good one. Bill has made a great point. Living honestly and simply so that others may simply live is a wonderful value to have.

I don't care what the research says. I feel better when I exercise and am more motivated to continue eating healthy. The release of endorphins during exercise help my mood and help to regulate my appetite. This is good info, but I would hate to have people miss out on the benefits of moderate exercise.

Bush is a text book case of narcissitic personality disorder. The man has no regard for the opinions of others and is thoroughly embroiled in his own fantasy. I am grateful that a number of Republicans are finally seeing the destructive path is is taking this country and their party. Maybe bi-partisanship will arise from having a common enemy - GWB.

The only thing keeping me from entering this is the "on air" coaching. If I started talking about my love life in a public forum it could cause more problems that it will fix. Not a good thing!!!!!! My life is going pretty well right now and I don't need to muck it up by discussing my past on satellite radio.

OHMYGOD!!!!!!!!!!!! I have had fantasies about Steven Tyler for years. I even tease my son and tell him that ST is his real father. I got close enough to the stage at a concert once that when he tossed his head back I could feel his sweat. But, damn, a kiss from those lips. I am jealous. My 50 year old heart is going wild. My taste has turned to Sting over the years, but Steven can still make my heart twitter.

Keep an eye on 'em. When my "almost 30" turned 13 it seemed as if someone handed him a handbook on how to be wild teenager and he studied it thoroughly and passed the test with flying colors. I was a grandmother before he turned 18.

If you can find something on mindfulness meditation. Anything by Jon Kabat-Zinn. It helps to quiet the mind and keep the thoughts from racing. You can also try a loving kindness meditation - do a websearch using "loving kindness meditation" and you will find a lot of guidance.
