I have never tried to go for the big deals because I know it is not likely I will get them with the limited quantities. I only go to JC Penny for the Mickey Snowglobe because I have not had any trouble getting it the last 6 years. First year I strike out I will give up on it forever, though.

Yes, in the past at least you get it on Friday and the coupon with it is good on Saturday. I have them from the past 6 years and will be dragging my dad out this year to get the 7th. Usually do with my mom, but they just divorced and my dad gets Thanksgiving traditions this year.

Around here at least the normal prices for food are decreasing, as Safeway and then Fry's started a whole new lower prices campaign. The sales have also been pretty good the past few weeks. Produce wise it has not been great, but it has not really increased either.

Great shot of the tree. I love seeing the trees go through cycles and loose their leaves. It is actually my favorite stage of the process. Unfortunately, most of the trees around here do not do that unless they die.

It makes a big difference. Inkjet paper does not work for laser printers. Lasers use a heated roller that not only ruins the Inkjet photo paper, but can damage the printer if you use Inkjet photo paper in it. Even if it does print without damaging the paper the ink will usually then run or smear easy because the laser ink does not fuse to the inkjet paper. There is laser versions photo paper and if your local office supply stores do not have it, then you might want to get it online.

I doubt I will go anywhere besides JC Penny for the Mickey snowglobe. However, Thanksgiving is with my dad this year and for the first time ever I might not go with my mom and I actually got him to agree to do it since I have the globes from the past six years and cannot stop the collection now. Anyways, he is easier to convince to go to more stores and wait in lines, so I might consider going elsewhere. I have done several stores on Black Friday and have mostly found friendly people and the only drawback has usually just been long lines, but some of the line waiting, especially the year we went to JoAnns, was actually quite enjoyable exchanging ideas with others in line.

Depends on the store, but sometimes the deals are online or at least some of the deals are. Sometimes the ad will say in store only or in store and online for specific deals. However, the main online version of Black Friday deals is the Monday after Thanksgiving and is known as Cyber Monday.

Interesting. Must be different than my Dollar Tree. They never sell anything over a $1 at mine. They just sell the stuff in smaller packages for food things to still be a $1.

I do not think I will actually shop. I will just go to JC Penny for the Mickey snowglobe to add to my collection. Might get some clothes there or something, but that is the absolute only shop we do on Black Friday.

I think you are thinking of a different dollar store. At Dollar Tree absolutely everything is $1, except a very few amount of things that are $0.59 each or 2 for $1. Anyways, molds sure can be expensive. I have never paid $14 for a mold, though, but only because I never buy the silcone/flexible ones unless they were cheap. I have some big and small heart ones I got in the Target $1 and $2.50 section two Christmases ago.

A 12 days of Christmas showcase of shops sounds like a fun idea. It is certainly the best time of year to promote handmade goods and art, as people are often looking for unique gifts, and at the same time they can discover the wonderful world of products like those sold on Etsy and get inspiration for the rest of the year as well.

By the way Etsy shop is where I get most of my online business. I just tend not to promote it as much because the url www.kjscrafts.com is just easier to remember and type, although I do try every once and a while to promote it instead as it seems some people feel safer buying through there even though in the end you get the same Paypal guarantee either way.

I have been making soaps since 2004. This year is my second year doing craft shows, although I have been selling them online almost as long as I have been making them. The snowmen mold I currently have sells really well here in the desert at Christmas time, so I thought it would be good to vary my snowman assortment with the new mold. Found it just in time for the holiday shows, as I am doing my first next weekend.

I tend to spot a cat at least once a week in my yard. There will me months at a time it is the same cat, but there have been various ones that cycle through. They are mostly just cats left behind my college students when they go home for the summer, but there are communities of true feral cats in our neighborhood as well, but more near my parent's house than the part where I currently live.

I kind of have pets now, as my dad moved to an apartment and left his fish behind at my mom's last week. I decided to claim them and will probably move the tank upstairs to my room when I move back to my childhood room after Thanksgiving. I have always loved fish and had one all through college and would have had him in my house, but he died before I brought him over and then never got around to getting a new fish for that tank.

I finally started and got the LEGO Advent Calendar yesterday as a gift for my mom, my bro, and myself. I also at least know what I want to get for the kid I babysit. I just have to figure out what to get my dad if anything other than some of my soaps. This year I will spend more on gifts than last year, as I did not buy any gifts last year.

I would like to win the ornament. The Lion King ornament would be a great gift for my brother. This year is the first time we are putting the tree up in years, since we will actually be home for once. We usually go to Chicago, but this year my brother is having scolios surgery over Christmas break (might even be in hospital on Christmas), so we are staying home. He is a fan of Disney and the Lion King is special because it came out just over a week before he was born.
