I got to talk to a past chef of mine..by chance yesterday at my current place fo work...he said they had called him....
He actually runs the other side of the business at the same place I am seeking work....( the BIG side)
it was good timing seeing his face..comforting?
funny enogh how things change in just 4 years in the food biz...they ahve had problems tracking down people LOL...one place therewas only one person left Ihad worked with...
but I gues actully it is better than my retail experience of the last 4....
whether I stay where I am at or take the new job....when offered....
I will get my mojo back...eventually....

I know I am CRAB happy right now, seeing these lovely photo's....
screen licking good...
whipped up the last batch of fresh salsa for the year...sigh....
but now ONTO HORSERADISH!!!! I am doing it this year.... got my processor out and ready to " clear the room with toxic fumes...LOL"( see I am gonna put the first frost to good use...")
I have cut back on my computer time...so I am glad there hasn't been way to much going on.....
but I could use a few more photos like these over the winter.....dreaming of dinner at Madame D's

HEY SHANNON! looks good I love white chili....
I made a pot of bean and bacon soup today and used up the last of the tomatoes and peppers and made fresh salsa!
ahhh the end of summer fare.....

thee I hope to cure all winter...clean up a bit and sell...people use them to make bird houses...bowls...ect....andI iwll be saving the seeds...to sell....

I plan on growing some next year...they are not hardy...but they get HUGE....

they do have the traditional thicker skin of a market variety....
we gutted a few( had to save the seed) and used the shell in with other veggies....and they cook down well....
I would say they are real good...not spectacular...definately better tahn anything I have had from a store..
and the outter skin and meat held up ...so I would say it would be a good stuffer....and I sliced them..so I would say they are a firm tomatoe...might make a good canner too....

Correct Duckie! This is a hardy fiberous begonia....not the tuberous one that gets the fancy flower...BUT the fancy one..after it is finished putting on its larger flowers.will often put on ones such as this...
I am so lucky to have friends who know these things....

Yes. This one was a great find. I had been looking for one in the woods a few miles away that I had seen. Almost pulled it though, thinking it was wild grape vine.
