Actually, I did start a group already; it's called Dealing With Asperger's Syndrome and Hyperlexia. You can probably get to it by clicking on my name and going to my groups or doing something similar; I can't remember the exact link right now EHEhehehehehe :o

This makes very good sense to me. In fact, I was involved in a relationship a while back with a guy who was 11 years older than me. Can you believe that? 11 YEARS OLDER! I was only 19 at the time I met him, and after "dating" him for a while, I figured out that he was obviously ready for something that I wasn't. It got to the point where it was so overwhelming for me that I told him straight out that I wanted him to stop all contact with me, and that included emails and phone calls. I became really freaked out around him. He kept coming back even after the multiple times I said no, and get this. He blamed me for it all. He said it was my idea that we grow close, and blah, blah, blah. He insisted that he only wanted to be "just friends." Yeah, whatever! I still get angry whenever I think about how he treated me; just because I was a girl he implied that he could brainwash me. "Oh, yeah, Allison, it was you," and la la la. In fact, I have considered the exact topic of this article. Ever since getting involved with him so many years ago, I've decided that I am never going to trust men ever again. I will never get married and I will never have kids. One time I even told him that I was going to kill myself so that he would back off. That was how bad it got. He was looking for someone to spend the rest of his life with, and I'm sorry, hun, but it ain't gonna be me. I was the child who grew up teased and taunted by little boys on the playground, and I still have not gotten over it even today. The pressure and the brainwashing, all done by boys, has put a premanent scar on my life. It's been about 14-15 years since I was a little girl in grade school, and about 4 years since the bad relationship with my ex, and I have never healed from it. I got too afraid to stand up for myself, and now it's resulted in years and years of anger that I've kept inside, which now, has finally broken loose.

I love this article, Berf! Thanks for writing it! I've been asking myself that question over and over again, and I can't seem to ever answer it fully. This is the reason people are so rude and ignorant; it's not that they can't get along with each other, it's more that they won't. I see it on the freeway driving in to Sac State every day. Some thoughts on why people won't get along with each other: greed (like "what's in it for me?"), selfishness, and most importantly, the lack of personal responsibility. People don't want to take responsibility for their actions, so naturally, it's always "the other guy's fault." Okay, they're adults, I understand. They don't have Mommy and Daddy breathing down their back and telling them what's right and what's wrong, but really--give everyone a break! You can't always do what you want to do when you want to do it just because you are adults! I see some children behaving even better than some of these adults! It's pathetic, and the adults need to grow up and stop acting like babies. Yes, I think people can get along, but it's more about personal decision. I guess that's why we have terrorists who hate our guts.

I've been reading LOTS of books for school, but nothing I'd really recommend. :(
However, I really like the 'Harry Potter' books, but I'd recommend 'The Phantom Tollbooth.' I've always loved it as a kid.

I'm not sure, although I'm pretty pissed because the ABC broadcast network took the whole rest of season 2 off the air, and I don't get cable. Grrrr!!!!!! I basically missed an entire new season!!!!!! >:-(

Hey, I just started watching Desperate Housewives recently, and I have to admit; I got hooked. I started out by renting the first season to see what all the hype was about, and now I know. My favorite TV show, though, is "Heroes," because I'm really into people with superpowers. I even have a notebook filled with drawings of superheroes I invented, and I put myself in all my superhero stories. Sylar is HAWT! *twitch*

I belong to SurveySavvy and MyPoints, although I haven't really been filling out any of the surveys after what happened to me. I've learned not to trust the Internet as far as money goes, because it seems that when I do fill out surveys, I get nothing back. Their gain, my loss, I suppose.
