Thank you! I'm really trying to get focused again. I'm even attempting NaNoWriNo again. I did it 2 years ago and won. Still editing that book. Hope to push myself again!

Oh my Goodness! It happened to me at a WhatABurger and I am well over 55! But it was the first time. It was after my grandson's ballgame on a hot summer day. I looked really bad. The boy didn't ask me if I wanted the senior discount. He just gave it to me. When i said 'that's not the right amount' he promptly said,well i gave you the senior discount. I said, 'What?!!" My husband gently put his hand on my shoulder and said, 'Go sit down dear, I'll finish the order.' I was shocked and he knew I would take it badly! LOL I tell it as a joke now and am proud to be able to save some money in these expensive times. But that first time.....I SO identified with your story!

Luella, as I read your story I could identify in so many ways. My father was a hard, dominating man also. The beatings and the name calling and the absence of any affection made for a very lonely childhool. He died 15 years ago. The only difference is that my dad and I reconciled 2 years before he died. That is when i found out so many things I never knew before. You have the joy of knowing you did all you could do to have that relationship with your father. No need to look back and wonder what if. My experience has given me the ability to show more love than I ever knew I had and I guess it was because of the way I was raised. Journey on! It was a good story. Well done. PW

It's taken me a while to engage on this site, but Kathryn I have read and enjoyed all your pieces. Life is busy what with raising two grandchildren, so I am slow to respond sometimes. I wanted to comment on this because I have a sister that has been diagnosed. She is on meds and seems to be doing well now. But so many years were bizarre and chaotic. She's in her 60's now and we're just forming a relationship stolen from us by this disease. It's good to hear stories of inspiration. Keep up the good work. PW
