Oh yes, people just love to dress up at the conventions, but I'm not one of them. I just go to have a great time! : )

Yes Lynn, I have been to two different exhibits here in Chicago. Pharaohs of the Sun, which was at the Art Institute and the latest visit of King Tut at the Field Museum. They were awesome! By the way, I have a couple of Egyptian lotus tattoos on my wrist and foot! : )

Thank you Lynn! It's so great when someone appreciates what I write, especially since I was always afraid to share my writings with anyone until I discovered Gather. I don't just write to be writing, I write when I'm inspired to. The best way I can describe it...words and thoughts run around in my head until I have to let them out so they will leave me alone. And writing is such a personal thing for me. I feel I always bear my soul.

Each year we go to conventions for Stargate and Supernatural and next year they are bringing back Star Trek to the Chicago area and we'll be there. The conventions have actors from these shows come and talk to the audience and sign autographs and take pictures with their fans. Many like the vendors room where you can buy t-shirts, books, photos and all kinds of stuff that has to do with the shows. They also have costume contests and auctions too. It's a very fun weekend! Yes, she is and it was fun having her visit us! I collect teddy bears and it was fun to see that she picked the Spock bear! I see a new Trekker in our future. : )

This response is from Bob, Sandy's husband: Republican and Democrat are party labels. Conservative and Liberal are ways of thinking. When you refer to Conservative Democrats and liberal Republicans, I suppose the following examples might apply. The so called Blue Dog Democrats are examples of conservative Democrats. Some Moderate Republicans like John McCain could be considered liberal Republicans. Another good example of a conservative Democrat might be Independent Senator Joseph Lieberman. I see myself as a conservative. Having said that, I must also add that I am not very happy with the Republican Party right now. They seem to be rather weak kneed at the moment. I hope this helps to shed some light on what a few of us believe. Thanks Gary L. for the questions. I wish more of us would be asking them. Especially now!

That was very interesting Gary. I'm a Chicago area girl, but I grew up in Indianapolis from the age of 12 to 21 and then moved back home. : )
