My husband and I have lived full time in an RV for 8 years. We have had a wonderful life. We aren't retired, I was only 49 and he was 51 when we started our adventure. We have worked in campgrounds in Georgia, Texas, Florida, Virginia and Pennsylvania. Now we are working at the North Rim of the Grand Canyon for our second season. I love it!

My husband and I had always been campers, so getting him to travel in an RV was not a problem. If your wife truly does not want to go, nothing you can say will change that. However, you might start by telling her she won't have to cook or clean, which means you travel in the RV, but take her out to eat for meals, and you do the cleaning. She might compromise in that way. Or, let her choose the place to go. Is there somewhere she has been dying to go? take her there first.

good luck! I have known a lot of people who travel alone because their spouse doesn't want to rough it, but honestly, RV's these days are far from roughing it.

I wish there was something like this near me! I am gluten intolerant, and it is hard to find foods in restaurants sometimes.

I live in a 34 ft travel trailer that cost $32,000. It is not quite as fancy as that one, but it is home and it is comfy.

Gluten intolerance and celiac disease are not allergies to wheat. It is an auto-immune disease that damages your intestines, and if not treated can damage your whole body. The cure is simple--don't eat wheat, rye, or barley which all contain gluten. If you have gluten intolerance or celiac disease, you will have to eat gluten free for the rest of your life. But, there are a lot of good mixes, good rice pastas, and lots of good things to eat that do not have gluten in them. Changing is not something we like to do, but I can assure you that when I started eating gluten free, I felt so much better that I can resist the temptation to eat it again.

I have to eat gluten free, and have been doing so since April of 2007. No, you do not have to eat only salads and veggies. There are lots of foods you can have, so you should focus on what you CAN have rather that what you CAN NOT have. I was a bread person, loved it more than anything when I did not know that was what was making me sick. Now that I know, I don't care if I can't have it because I don't have all those crappy things wrong with me anymore. email me if you want more info!

Yeah, I do need more milk, but I live 75 miles from the nearest store right now. I can't just run down to the store for milk.

I eat gluten free because I have celiac disease. It is not hard to do after you learn what has gluten and what does not. Thank for the article.

While I can't eat Stouffer's products because they contain wheat, if I could, I would use the time to go hiking with my husband, or sitting by the campfire with my fellow workers here at the Grand Canyon after a long day on the job.
