meditation is good, especially breathing, visualization meditation. find a meditation master/center of get a book on it. i'll look for some good resources online and post here.

i suspect, having worked with a LOT of add/adhd kids, that at least some results from over stimulation of senses during early development, especially electronic media (tv, modern music, video/audio input), but thats useless info at your child's age...

beware of the child becoming too metacognizant of the condition - this can lead to self fulfilling prophesy "hey - i'm adhd!"

therapy in addition to medicine (especially family therapy) is also good...sometimes a third party's perspective is useful, and often systemic family relations can help.

a punching bag and "crazy zone" sometimes is good too...for you and your child...lol

consider martial arts and/or yoga/meditation...good mental and physical training.

brains are like muscles - physical/mental training can alter chemistry...

wish i could siphon off some of that...lol
