Thanks, James. I think it would be fun - though when I called my husband to discuss making plans for Christmas in the desert, he pointed out that if I get this job, I'll have to work Christmas and New Year's Eves! And then he laughed.

I applied, and have had a first interview. I'll know next week whether or not I get a second interview. It's so odd, really. My resume was so old that I had to get my husband to bring my old computer back up in order to find a tool that could open the file. Even then, all I could do with it was print it and type it back in on my new computer. It was a DOS file!

Hee. Sorry, Dana. I went to pick up the girl at school, and then we worked on some bedroom-rearranging which percolated out of the whole kitchen-must-be-empty deal, and then I took her to play practice, and then I shopped at Henry's (first time, not bad) and then I came home and as I was putting the lettuce away she called to be picked up, so I threw some items I need to donate to Goodwill (empty-kitchen-business) in the trunk of the car and picked her up and dropped my donation. And now I'm home...

And I do like talking to people, Dana. Especially young-type people.

I'm scanning entries here when I have time, but I'm weeks behind. I've been busy getting the kitchen remodel underway and volunteering at school.

Here's my latest revelation. If you remodel your kitchen, you have to empty the damn thing. Who knew?

Hi, you guys.

I did a crazy thing. I applied for a job. Part-time. Tour guide at the Jet Propulsion Lab. :-)

No, really, I did. I decided I couldn't continue to hover over youngest child the way I do. This job would be fun, would still involve my favorite hobby - educating kids, without pressure.

Ha. I've been home for about 20 minutes. Something magical has happened to the freeways this evening - they functioned as fast and efficient passages from one side of the county to the other! It's almost like they were designed to do just that!

We had a great time. Don't tell Ken, though.
