Great find! I think I own one pair of sandals. :) It's not warm enough to need them very much here, plus I have an ankle that acts up from an old injury if I don't wear supportive sneakers when I do much walking at all.

Have fun dreaming about wearing them! lol

There are two deployments leaving our base this year. One of them leaves in May, and the other leaves in September. I have a feeling that if my husband goes on the one that leaves in May, I'll be miserable when Elliott and I go home to visit. :) We do have highs here that reach 100, but not nearly as many as my hometown does.

I think a September deployment would be much better. It's a short one, so it would just be until February or so probably, so I could just stay with my family the entire time and miss out on over half of winter here. ;)

Over the summer we didn't have a lot of days warm enough for the pool either. And we consider pool weather to be cooler than you do probably. lol It was just kind of a cold summer here. We had SNOW in June!

I like it warmer, too, but unfortunately I just have to deal with the cold. My little sister and mom are coming up here in about a month for Elliott's birthday, and I have a feeling they are going to be complaining about the cold when they go outside, but complaining that it's too hot in the house. lol My husband freezes at anything below 65 or so, so North Dakota is definitely not the best fit for him. ;)

He's working on getting orders to somewhere overseas right now, with the hope of going somewhere many miles south of here when we come back stateside. ;)

My Elliott just saw these pictures and decided you and your Elliott live in Florida like JR and her kids. lol He's convinced these are new pictures of the other Elliott. :)

My aunts and sister have done a lot of research on both sides of my family. I keep meaning to do it on my husband's side of the family, but haven't started yet. I don't have much at all to go on for either side of his family, though. His grandparents are all dead and neither of his parents know much about anyone. My husband's not even sure what his grandma's middle name or maiden name were!

Elliott loves ants on a log now that he can chew through the celery. He used to just lick the peanut butter and raisins out. lol

I so need to get groceries tomorrow. All I have for fresh produce is a handful of carrots, and Elliott's pretty upset about that. I should have gone today but decided to wait another day since my husband had to work this morning and thought he might have some stuff to do later, too.

We have to go get groceries tomorrow anyway (ugh, I'm so not looking forward to it, but I can't put it off any longer....we have a handful of carrots left and that's it for fresh produce!), so I think we are going to do a little bit more shopping, and then grabbing Chinese take out or something on our way home. We'll watch a couple movies that we got for Christmas and play one or two of Elliott's new games. We'll probably watch the ball drop at 11 our time, and then Elliott will go to bed, if he makes it that late. :0

We have a bunch of errands to run during the day tomorrow, and we'll probably grab some Chinese food on the way home. Then we will watch a couple movies and play some of Elliott's new games. We'll watch the ball drop at 11 if Elliott is still awake, and then he will probably head to bed.

He is so cute! And don't you know that if it's warm enough for snow to melt, it's WARM? ;) Just ask my Elliott, and he will tell you that if the temperature doesn't have a minus sign in front of it, and has 2 numbers, it's warm enough to play. ;)

Thanks for reminding me that I need to make some phone calls and see about having Elliott a birthday party somewhere else. We just don't really have enough room to have a party here right now, especially since we'll have houseguests at the time. :)

We got a cheaper brand, and I think they are a little bit thicker. We didn't buy one for Elliott since he's hot so often.

My husband loves his for when he's studying or something. He also uses it when he watches TV, although a regular blanket works just as well for that. We got them cheaper than we could get a throw blanket, though, so no complaints.

We have to go shopping tomorrow, so I think we'll grab Chinese take out or something on the way home. Then we're going to watch a couple of movies and play games. Elliott won't have a bed time tomorrow, so we'll see how long he makes it. :) We live in central time zone, so he usually makes it to the first ball drop at 11 our time, and then goes to bed. We do sparkling juice so we can toast the new year and Elliott's always excited about that. :)

My husband is usually not much help when I'm sick either. He did take Elliott shopping over the weekend to give me some time to rest, but that is very rare (I think he's taken Elliott out shopping without me 3-4 times total). Usually I still have to do everything, and he even expects me to cook and everything!

Thanks for the heads up! I just went and printed the coupons. :)

Elliott did get the Tag for Christmas, and he LOVES it. :) He's already "reading" one of the new books even without the Tag's help, since he used the tag as he went through the book several times. There are games to play with it, too, so he's really enjoying it.

Last year I ended up getting him stocking stuffers for 90% off, but then forgot about them until we were sorting through Christmas stuff this year. He found them first. lol

Thanks for the heads up, Jax! I've been considering reading the books, but the reviews have been mixed. I'm still considering it, though, as I got some Barnes and Noble giftcards for Christmas. I think I'll wait and see if I like the characters on the show, though, although I'm sure the books will be better like most things. :)

We don't itemize, although I am thinking about adding everything up this year. I have a feeling the standard deduction will still be a better option for us, though.

I was induced 2 days before my due date with Elliott. My mom joked that I should have to go late, since I was so late. Her doctor did NOT believe in inducing (I was born in 82), so she carried me over a month past the due date! Since she found out so early, and always measured right on target, they couldn't have been off more than a few days. The due date was July 20, and I arrived on August 29. She should have hated me! lol Summer is miserable in southern Missouri without an AC, even when not pregnant!

No help here. I live in North Dakota. We've already had highs that were lower than -15 real temp this winter. We've had windchills down below -40 during the DAY!

It sounds like you guys had a great day. We're going shopping tomorrow or Thursday and I'm hoping to get a few great deals. There's not really much we NEED, though, other than groceries. :) Carl took Elliott shopping on Sunday to give me some time to rest since I've been a bit sick. They got a few Christmas things at half price, and they bought me a late Christmas present. They bought me True Blood Season One on DVD since it's on sale for $17 this week (normally about $50 I think). I haven't ever seen it (HBO isn't even an option in our area without satellite), but I've been assured by my sister that I was the first person she thought of when she watched part of an episode. ;)

I'm hoping to find something for Elliott that he will love at Target. He has a $25 giftcard that he got for Christmas. He also has a $30 one for Walmart, so we'll be shopping there, too, although they don't usually have as many good deals on toys after Christmas.

My husband has the same problem with our son. Luckily, he still usually listens to me still at this point (he's almost 4). He's lately started telling my husband "Momma says I can," when my husband gets onto him. It worked at first since my husband works such long hours and spends such a small amount of time one on one with him, but lately I've been home to hear Elliott say that, and I've been calling him out on it. My husband really must have thought I let him get away with everything. :)
