Kathryn, I'm lactose intolerant as well and for years I have struggled with it. I love dairy and getting enough calcium is a big concern for me as well. I have tried Lactaid and if I use one, it doesn't seem to help much, but two definitely helps a bit. Also I've learned that if I limit my milk consumption at one sitting to less than 250mL and a double dose of Lactaid, I don't have too much trouble. Also for some reason, yogurt does not give me any problems at all. I can eat it without any tummy aches, bloating or any other ill side effects of lactose intelerance.

I am so going to try this on the weekend with a couple small substitutions - ground turkey! I like the flavor of turkey and plus its usually what I have on hand. Also maybe a bit of ginger - again because I love the taste. I'll let you know how it turns out.

This place is awesome. It's definitely not to the same standard as Texas de Brazil, but it quite good if you're jonesing for a huge meat fix.
