Already a member, but I love this space, there are so many creative interesting people to interact with!!

Since this first day, we have spotted a mating pair with hatchlings at Yellowstone. It is still a thrill to see them.

Focusing on Bush or whomever the president might be is in my humble opinion, a simply perpetuate the appearance of doing something, by doing something useless.

What is actually driving the avalanche of imported products? American consumers. The Corporations make money which is why they exist, and the products pass right to god fearing consuming Americans. We Americans want our stuff sure enough, but we want it reasonably priced. So If Ford, or Matel or WalMart can't get the merchandise from American companies that can't compete because of Union pay scales, regulations or other such American issues, so be it.

I think it's a shame as more and more of what made us successful and strong is being outsourced to countries who will do what we won't for the price that we want to pay. We are victims of our own success.

And we could point fingers and regulate until the end of time, and there would still be "accidents" some avoidable, some not. Viewing "accidents" or unhappy outcomes from a bad toy or a dangerous car statistically is the only way to measure the problem as a part of the whole. (But it definitely isn't a good deal if you are the the statistically insignificant victim injured by the mistake.)

Sadly, we are "human", mistakes happen; in design, materials, manufacture, transport and, I believe, just "accidents". To think that a regulations will end accidents is well, statistically a loosing proposition.

We could make the importers responsible, but they already are, we sue them. And that is why insurance is so high... and on and on....
