As such, it is incumbent upon each and every one of us to ensure that, individually, we set the right example for our daughters and girls in our lives by emphasizing the beauty of reality and truth.

Nancy B. -- There are at least 6 different key pieces of evidence in this case that point to Delara's innocence. One is that Delara is left handed, and the stab wounds were inflicted by someone who was right handed (the way the wounds were, the places where the stabbing wounds were on the victim's body, etc.); the second thing is that Delara is an extremely petite girl. She only weighed 100 lbs. at the time of the crime. The murdered victim was much larger in both height and stature than Delara. Where the wounds have occured indicate that either someone much taller and more atheletic than Delara must have delievered them, or Delara must have been standing on stilts!!!! Amir, Delara's ex boyfriend, is an athlete and much taller than Delara ....!!! At the time of the murder and for hours afterwards, Delara was clearly under the influence of some "downer" pills that Amir had forced her to take. There is evidence showing that Delara was completely "out of it" during and for hours after the murder was committed. These are the 3 key facts that have been made public. Let me check with Delara's lawyer to make sure I can talk about the rest before doing so.

Olga -- Nazanin Fatehi had, in fact, killed someone: She killed the guy who tried to rape her! She had every right to act in self defense, of course, and, as a feminist, I am glad that she exercised her human right to defend herself.

Also, a heart felt thank you to all of you who have signed the petition. I have no idea how any "court" can justify this horrifying sentence in light of the OVERWHELMING evidence supporting Delara's claims of innocence. (For example, the victim was stabbed by someone who had used his/her right hand. Delara is left handed. Additionally, the stabbing was carried out by someone who could have physically overpowered the victim. Delara is a petit girl who can not possibly have had the physical ability to carry out the acts in this case. The list goes on and on.) Besides, Iran is a signatory to international documents that prevent the execution of minors. Iran has repeatedly ignored this and routinely sentences minors to death. This must STOP!

(1) Iran is NOT an Arab nation. Iran is linguistically and culturally Persian, NOT ARAB.

In recent months, the Islamic regime has been cracking down on Iranian Kurds, and the much smaller Iranian Arab population (only 2% of Iran's population is Arab, btw) in Ahwaz.

Given Iran's vast influence in Iraq since the fall of Saddam, I can hardly think of Iraq as a soverign entity these days! (Just to give you an idea, if you call a business, hotel, etc. in certain parts of Iraq right this minute, the person answering the phone would be speaking Farsi, not Arabic.) As such, in my humble opinion, the atrocities committed against the Kurds "on the other side of the line," is simply an extention of the atrocities that the Islamic regime has been committing against the Kurds within within its own borders.

Perhaps the more important question is: In which direction are the short-range missiles that Iran tested yesterday are aiming these days???

It's actually called "ethnic cleansing." The Islamic regime in Iran is doing the same thing to the Arab-Iranian minorities who live in Southeast Iran in the Khoozestan region (Ahwaz). It's not a matter of sectarian violence because the government itself is targeting ethnic minorities and systematically executing them.

Unfortunately, since these photos were taken, Ahmadinejad's government has really cracked down on women, their "malveiling" (showing as much hair as they are in this photo), and increased the number of female Basij members to ensure that Iranian women have as little chance of breathing as possible!

As of a few weeks ago, Ahmadinejad's insane government even segregated THE PUBLIC PARKS!!! Men and women can no longer enjoy a stroll in the park together, much less be seen on the wrong side of the park!

During Khatemi's presidency, the insane Islamic laws that had been in place since Khomeini took over in 1979 were not as strictly enforced as they had been before. However, Ahmadinejad's election changed all of that.

In June of this year, women were brutally beaten by the Islamic guards (both male and female ones) and arrested during a demonstration opposing the increasingly oppressive actions of the Islamic government. And as we are aware, instances of stoning and public hangings have increased under Ahmadinejad. So, unfortunately, the clock is actually rolling back instead of forward for the 70 million prisoners who we refer to as the Iranian people.

Wow! I am actually quite shocked to learn that Iranian women's continuous struggle to regain their legal, economic, social, and political rights, which were taken away from them when the Islamic regime took over the government in 1979 are not as well-recognized as I thought they were!!! So, in an atttempt to make the gatherites more familiar with the courage that is part and parcel of a Persian woman's DNA, I have posted more images of Iranian men and women protesting lack of equal rights and demanding freedom and justice.

The "thanks" go out to all of YOU who expressed your outrage at such inhuman and violent acts towards women in the land of CYRUS THE GREAT, the author of the FIRST declaration of the Universal Human Rights (which was incorporated into the U.N. Charter).

The demonstrations in front of Iranian embassies in Europe in the past few weeks, the letters to government officials in Iran and elsewhere, the bloggers who wrote about the Nazanins and the Malaks and the Ashrafs, the Board of Supervisors in San Francisco who voiced its objections to the unspeakable treatment of Iranian women, Mayor Gavin Newsom and all others who have supported my efforts, the people who bought the T-shirts and other merchandise from CafePress.com to support the legal fund for these women ... THOSE are the actions and the people -- individually and as a whole -- that have saved Ashraf's life and spared her children from growing up in an orphanage.

However, this is just the beginning!

There are many more women AND CHILDREN in Iran who face similar fates. These types of horrors are NOT part of their culture! These atrocities befell the women and children of Persia only 27 years ago, when the Islamic regime took over the government and turned Iran/Persia -- one of the most progressive, educated, and modern nations -- into a prison of 70 million.

The children of Cyrus the Great -- the man whose words and actions form the very foundation of OUR OWN freedoms and liberties in the U.S. and other free societies -- deserve nothing less than a life in freedom and in accordance with their rich heritage, culture and history.
