That was AWESOME! Thanks so much for posting this.

I'm so glad to see the last of those eyesores come down. I used to work in that building in the late '80's as an admin for the property management company that ran those 3 high rises, plus most of the older townhouses that used to be on Collins & Broad Streets before the renovation. They were hell holes 20 years ago.

The building wasn't exactly "public" housing - at least back then. Most of the units were subsidized Section 8 housing, but some units were "market" priced. I remember a shabby, run-down 1 bedroom in that building ran about $100 a month MORE than most modest to nice 1 bedroom apartments in Shadyside and Friendship. Yes, people actually paid a premium to live in a subsidized building.

The high rise that used to be right across Broad St. was a hot bed of violent crime. During the brief time I worked there (about 5 months) there was a rape reported at least once a week in the Liberty Park high rise, not to mention routine muggings / stabbings / beatings and 2 murders.

As much as I appreciate Joy's desire to see Pittsburgh remain as it is in her memory, I couldn't be happier to see that place gone.

Is the new Target going to be on the site of the high rise? I thought it was going in further up Penn Ave. by the old Nabisco factory.

I'm curious about those who chose under to prevent feline-induced unrollage. If it weren't for the cat, would they still roll under?

I guess I'm lucky that the TP is the only thing in the house with which my Tailed Terror does NOT interfere. If he did, I would seriously consider changing my ways to keep the roll tidy. However, each time I replaced a roll, I would know in my heart I was hanging it wrong.

Lady Z, or whatever your name is,

Is this really the way you want to portray your company's image? The approach to your profession that you convey in this rant not only reads as unprofessional, it comes off as petty and immature.

Surely you are aware that a quick Google search of your company's name links to this article. Aren't you? On the first page alone of a Google search, I found 4 links to this article, some cached and still others linking to groups to which you published. All comments, even those you deleted, still appear in the group spaces.

But surely you know this already. A professional such as yourself would certainly not be so careless as to publish your rants willy-nilly across the interwebs, under your company's name, without researching the impact of such a post.

I noticed that, too, Roy. A quick Google search didn't yield any further results for books published by ZLS. I did find one article from July, 2007 saying that a title "When Being Nice Is No Longer An Option" was expected in December 2007. A Google search of that title yielded no results, so I'm not sure what happened to that book.

Praise: I like the way Janna points out that someone may be able to teach how to spin straw into gold, even if Joy cannot.

Critique: I think Janna may have overlooked the whole subject-verb agreement rule.

Where's the picture bringing all these elements together?

If he gets nekkid on that silly model show, I will be glued to the TV every week. Mmmm, nekkid Sawyer in glorious high def.....

Awesome! That was well worth the wait! Even with the vintage cookware (and Aldi's peas & carrots), you were able to make it look far less nauseating than the recipe card. The presence of identifiable onions made it look almost appetizing. Nah - who am I kidding - it was still liver.

Tell Chris he did and awesome job with the editing & effects & stuff, and also that I must have his kitchen.

I agree with CC & Mr. Muggles - YouTube NEEDS this video!

Sandy, did it occur to you that perhaps it is YOU that needs to do the research? Did you read all of the above comments, particularly Mary's comment on Feb. 15 at 2:44 PM? Did you research the order in question? No need to answer, since it is painfully obvious that you have not.

Additionally, you may want to "research" Aniko's icon. Perhaps then you might understand that she is not a "sir".
