I don't watch the show, but NeNe is a strong character unto herself.

It takes a strong person to publicly admit to doing things in their past they're not proud of, and NeNe did just that in her new book. Which left me, for once, rather impressed.

There is a porn star by the stage name of Johnny Depth. Just Google him! ;)

I knew going in that Transformers 2 would suck, but I was acquainted with the degree of suckage when I endured a scene where some god-like robots were the catalyst for Shia's character, Sam's, resurrection from the dead.

Skids and Mudflap, the two robots with the inexplicable inner-city in the hood dialects, added to the misery of experiencing Transformers 2. The final scene with Sam and the 70-something ton Optimus Prime standing on the battleship carrier in the middle of the ocean got nothing but long hard laughs from me.

Yes, unfortunately I have to agree with the assessment of McG lacking as a director.

He's shines for projects like Charlie's Angels and Fastlane, because you see that's not Batman or Terminator. Terminator-type projects are way behind the scope of film directors like McG, I feel. His We Are Marshall was melodramatic and sort-of anti-climatic. His body of work did not inspire much confidence in his directing abilities, and so here we go. . .Salvation gives us the thrilling action sequences, but it's a bit like riding a roller-coaster without a theme or a distinguishing trait. Yeah, it's a rush, but all you have to tell people once you get off is that, "That was a fun roller-coaster ride!" Bland!

I'd prefer to say, "You've got to get on The Batman!" Or, "Dude, you go up, then you do the entire trip in reverse! It's called The Boomerang!"

Yeah, McG was the wroooooooooooong helmer for this. . .

"Audience building", in fact, is just another euphemism for building relationships. If you brand yourself and your work, and if auds like your style and your brand, they'll come back to your work time and time again.

Because they will know what to expect and like it.

Heard some bad things about Treasure Trooper, ditto for Cash Crate (was placed on Survey Police watch list recently) but I like NetWinner very much--site is very easy on the eyes!

Saw Watchmen but won't be posting my review of it until next week, 'cause that's how long it will take for me to complete it.

However, your review is pretty spot-on. I liked the fact Zack Snyder made no comproms with styling Manhattan, whereas any other director would've elected to make him less explicit. I believe this is part of Warner Bros. new approach of letting the directors have more creative reign over a project, freeing them from studio interference.

A good call you made in this review was keeping discussion of the behind-the-scenes turmoil of Watchmen to a minimum, since that is largely irrelevant to analysis of the quality of the narrative. There were complaints that Snyder was too slavishly faithful to the source material, and I can't quite argue that since I sort of agree. Whereas Nolan didn't stick to The Dark Knight Returns, nor Burton for the first Batman film, Snyder of all the contemporary comic-book film directors came the closest to pulling a Gus-Van-Sant-adapting-Psycho approach to making the movie.
