I haven't been in Guangzhou since 1999. I'm sure it's changed immensely!

Did you see my old home, the Guangdong Plaza Hotel? At the time, at 63 floors, it was the tallest building in Guangzhou. In fact, it was known by locals as "Sixty-three floors" in Cantonese.

You just had to tell a taxi driver "Lok Sap Saam Chang" and he'd know where to take you.

Have a wonderful time.

I spent two Chinese New Years (Spring Festival) in Hangzhou. Watch out for the fireworks. If you're in a place that allows them, things can get a little crazy. We're talking professional grade fireworks in the hands of amateurs...

Sometimes. Actually, it got wilder. Later in the evening, the MC asked for volunteers to come on stage. I was up in a flash!

The funny thing is my boss at the time thought I was an introvert. I used to spend a lot of time in the office glued to my computer terminal. The Monday after the dinner dance (which was held in a massive ballroom), he said, "Why didn't you show up?"

He didn't recognize me when I was up on stage!

Of course my hair was a bit different than I wore it at the office. ;-)

Yes, I like jasmine tea as well, but I really developed a taste for Longjing tea. There's nothing quite like drinking green tea hours after it's been processed!

Good morning!

I'm sipping coffee and hoping it's not too smoky out there this morning for a morning run.

The smell of smoke was heavy in the air yesterday morning, so my wife and I decided to postpone until today.

My wife and I lived in Singapore between 2000 and 2001, and returned for a visit last year. It is truly my favorite city in the world!
