I used to hate sweet potatoes as a child ... my mother could hide them under all the marshmallow and nuts she wanted, but I'd just eat off the marshmallows while the grown ups were busy chatting during the holidy feast! I've grown to like them as an adult, but anything with pumpkin in it is the real show-stopper for me in the fall. Right now, I'm regularly making pumpkin pie without the crust, as sort of a pumpkin pudding. (My own picky preschool-aged eater is rather fond of it too! LOL)

I wanted to be a writer, an artist ... and at one point a dental hygenist. I think the last one was just because I was at the dentist so much with my retainers and braces etc. for a while! However, I am now a writer and a graphic artist - so part of it came true at least - maybe not in the exact manner I saw at age 10 but I'm happy about how it is going so far. I used to plunk away on my grandma's old manual typewriter - copying out whole chapters of my Trixie Beldon books and dream of writing my own books some day. I also wanted to be a mom ... and I have two beautiful little girls!

Well, I think I'm considered white collar ... though I now work from a home office and can wear pretty much what I want. Currently up early to work and still in my PJs. A very nice perk indeed! Just need coffee and I'm all set.

We have a miniature Schnauzer named Rommell! Is someone in your family a WWII history nut too? My husband is ... I'd say many of my cherished child-hood items are still in storage in my basement. I gradually dig into them and give them to my two girls as they age. One thing I haven't given away is a stuffed dog, that they are allowed to play with, but they know that it is mommy's. I didn't play as much with dolls as a child, but I loved my stuffed animals ...

I tend to overpack clothes - can't decide what's appropriate until I'm there LOL. If the kids are going I pack a ton of toys, snacks etc. for the road. Never leave the camera or music behind either though!

Music, a hot bubble bath and scented candles (not necessarily all at the same time) are methods that usually lift my spirits, or at least soak the aches away!

You might check out GoodSearch.com. It is a search engine that donates money to your favorite non-profit group. The more you use it, the more cents it sends to your favorite charity. I use it all the time, but I've never been on the receiving end to know how great they are about payment? I found it in someone's e-mail signature one day and I've been using it ever since!

I am actually friends with this author. She was my mentor in the Christian Writer's Guild. A wonderful Christian lady ... and this is definitely a book with some juicy mysteries that make it hard to stop reading!

I'm thinking it's not the fact that it would be offensive that it didn't make air time. I'm sure it would involve the station not wanting to make the new president upset (ie the possibility of getting sued?) by giving air time to it without his direct permission - since he is so prominently featured. I'm no lawyer, but if that were about me - and I didn't give permission - I'd be upset even though my views are in agreement with the ad.

I thought it was Canadian's the nation made fun of ... not Alaska (Sorry - to any Gather Canucks on here!)? I'd be all for Palin making it to the Senate. She's already proven she's a strong fighter against the corruption that got Stevens into the situation he is in. It would be a definite improvement.
