It's hard to lay TARP all at the hands of Obama when Bush was the one who introduced the idea more than a year ago. I get the feeling that you really don't understand most of what you're talking about with regards to the economy. Bush put $700 billion into TARP. Only $500 billion was spent (net). Thus, there is $200 billion left. The money was intended to be paid back to the government (with interest). The CBO estimates that about a quarter of that will not be paid back, thus the deficit of roughly $150 billion.

If you want to get technical about the term Taliban, it's actually the Pashto plural of the word Talib which means student.

I think you need to re-read your bolded part. The total unemployment rate (U6) went down 0.3%. You claim that it went up 0.3%.

The underemployment rate — which includes the unemployed, people working part time even though they wanted full-time work and those who stopped looking for worked — slipped to 17.2% from a record 17.5%.

You completely misunderstand the situation. The minarets that are being built (there are four) are NOT being used for the adhaan, or call to prayer.

Further, they are normally the size of church steeples. Here's a picture of one of them. They are of comparable size. If you make the argument that a mosque doesn't need a minaret, then you should make the same argument that a church doesn't need a steeple.

Yes, they should be allowed to as much as Christians are allowed to build church steeples for ringing bells. Otherwise, I can't see how it does not violate the Swiss Constitution which guarantees freedom of religion.

Trials are not exclusive to US citizens. They are held for all accused of crimes against US law.

That's exactly the sentiment I expressed. But you were the only one to jump up and say that he will be acquitted. "the killers will be set free to kill again"

Actually, very little of the information that we have on their cases comes directly from the persons in question themselves (your torture argument). Most comes from 3rd party sources, informants, documents and materials of his own about 9/11, etc. We knew that he was the mastermind before he was tortured. The torture was mostly to get information about other attacks to keep those from taking place, not about his own conviction. Even if you throw out the evidence gained from torture, you're still left with more than enough to convict him. It was the same with the others who used that "torture" argument that you mention. They lost those arguments and they were eventually convicted.

But you'll just ignore this because it doesn't fit with your preconceived notion that Obama is out to get you. And when the man is convicted, you'll dream up some other scenario that relates his conviction to Obama trying to support terrorists.

I didn't know that you could read the future.

Did you think that Moussaoui would be let go? Or Richard Reid? Blind Sheikh? Hamza Yusuf? Ramzi Yousef? John Walker? What makes you think that the US Justice system is incapable of trying and convicting terrorists, domestic or foreign, on soil soil when we have clear proof of it happening in the recent past?

What makes you think that there's a "big chance" that they'll be set free?

Why do Muslims have to take to the streets to denounce the attacks? Do you think that Christians must do the same when there is a Christian who commits a murder or terrorist action? Of course not.

Nasr, according to the author as he quotes from the Quran, there is a death penalty to Apostates.

There's nothing in the Quran that deals with an earthly punishment for apostasy. The Quran, in fact, mentions apostates many times yet clearly makes no mention of any punishment.

As for those who believe, then reject faith, then believe again, then reject faith again and become increasingly defiant , God will not forgive them, nor will He guide them to any path. (4:137)

The argument for death for apostasy is a very weak one that is not supported by many major Islamic scholars such as ibn Taymiyyah and Grant Mufti Ali Gomaa who are [b]highly[/b] respected traditional and contemporary scholars (respectively).

I'd rather not read such a poorly constructed book. Thank you.

The true fact about the Muslim religion is that any male born to a Muslim father must remain a Muslim.

Proof? I've heard plenty of claims of this but never seen any evidence of it.

If he doesn’t and doesn’t change his every day life back to Muslim, he becomes an Apostate and the punishment is DEATH.

That's simply a myth. Apostasy is not a reason for death.

You seem to be confusing the unemployment rate and the unemployment numbers. The rate has never been in the 500k range. The rate is expressed as a percentage.

The most important thing that you fail to mention is that PEOPLE STILL LOST JOBS.

People lose jobs even in the best of economic times. But the net effect, which is what's really important from a macro scale, has been that the U-3 unemployment rate dropped by 0.1% and the broader U-6 dropped by 0.2%.

We had about 2 million people lose their jobs in the past month. However, roughly 2.3 million got jobs! (For a net of 300,000 or about 0.2% of the civilian work force) Somehow, that's looked over.
