Yes, there is nothing nice or redeeming about "Uncle Tom" it cannot be framed in any other way. If it were a term that could be used interchangeably for other groups/classes of Americans I would be inclined to say that it was not, but this is not the case unfortunately.

What a truly ignorant rant, full of grammatical errors misspelled words. Thank you for notifying me that I am now the equal of you and your superior intellect (insert sarcasm).

I have said this in a previous post and I will say it again in response (no offense) to this pea brained argument....

"Black people" as you say are not a monolithic group, I have never in my life held a inferiority complex or felt that I was not the equal of anyone else who is privy to breathing on this planet.... Your commentary is telling!

This is dumb... Let's try this frame of logic; what if Nader was to call Bush a Uncle Tom? People would undoubtably be scratching their heads about what was said.

Why? the term is explicitly meant for African-American's and it is only used to denigrate, scorn or to show disdain toward a person who happens to be African-American in no uncertain terms...

I always find it interesting of people to label or point the finger at "Black people" when they have shown nothing short of intellectual laziness on their part to learn about anything that is outside of their narrow frame of understanding... Black people are not a monolithic group...

Nader is obviously willing to do anything to net himself any measure of attention even if it makes him look like a pure A%$!

You can't argue with that, he's actually pretty good at it!

Good article Bruce, I've read through the postings from our Gather colleagues and I just wanted to go on the record to state what I don't like from those who profess their disenchantment with the Constitutional law professor.

Why don't they ever capitalize properly? When referring to the personal "I" is always capitalized, it is no wonder that they favor the (5th from the bottom) graduate of the Naval Academy... Forrest Gump did say: "Stupid is as stupid does"

Not to ramble on, but the reason why McCain would not look at Obama is because of the significant height disparity between the two.... My 11 year old son is taller than McCain, so is my niece. God forbid if he was caught looking up to Obama!

So if I understand this correctly, if one procures any education past high school God forbid grad school it makes he/she a leftist/communist?

Wow, I must be a bad person! This "anti-intellectual talk" reeks of someone who didn't do well at the academic level... I truly hope that you are this passionate about getting the orders right in the drive thru!

Politicians do what politicans do... Do you truly expect not to find them without blemish? Who are you kidding? I'd rather take a educated one versus a grunt who graduated 5th from the bottom in his class & someone who attended 6 schools before she decided to graduate.... This tells me that the person(s) in question have a short attention span... Short attention span + White House = Bush Part III
