Oddly, I have two boxes in my freezer that I bought fairly recently. I don't buy them often. Must have had a coupon.

Maybe I'll hold onto them and sell them on Ebay. :)

If you can't tell the difference between the weather in one year and a long-term trend, you should not even be discussing climate. It's ONE year. temperatures fluctuate year to year based on short-term weather conditions.

Global warming theory is based on some pretty reasonable (but I will grant you, not completely consistent) long-term data.

If you want to dispute the quality of the long-term data, that's fine, but to base anything on one year is completely idiotic.

Suppose you had decided to do this in 2005. Would you be arguing that the data from 2005 was absolute proof that global warming was happening? Of course not.

Look at long-term numbers. This should not be hard to understand.

Interesting. Here on Cape Cod, the CVS stores all have the circulars and post the sale prices, even at the height of tourist season. Maybe they're still not considered "tourist" stores because most of their business still comes from local residents.

Pneumatic plague is a pretty good choice for a hypothetical threat because it is well-studied, potentially lethal and virulent, but still treatable. And it's a realistic threat. There are a few cases of bubonic plague still reported every year in the US. So while rare, it's not something in the realm of science fiction.

That is true. And you have the option to choose to spam or choose to not spam. I feel like Gather would be a better place if people would choose to not spam.

But of course it's your choice.

Measels CAN definitely be fatal and it is highly contagious. With chicken pox, the issue is more about what can happen if an unvaccinated individual gets the disease later in life. It's generally mild in children. In an adult it can cause permanent scarring/disfigurement.

Age limits will probably turn out to be unenforceable.

There's a simple solution to these kinds of problems. Parents should have a good enough relationship with their kids that they can make the decision as to when the kids are old enough.

It looks like you learned something from the mess that was the previous change in the "My Gather" view.

I'm glad you are giving the option to keep the original version if we like it better. I wish that you had taken this rather obvious step last time around.

I get really annoyed with the bulk emails, which are all basically just "Please read my post." I got three copies of the same one today. At the same time, I don't like the idea of completely blocking someone who might actually want to write to me personally.

Some better blocking options would be appreciated.
