HAHAHA - These are some really great ideas! Jim, I LOVE the horse and buggy idea... maybe next year, as that one seems to take more planning time than I have right now.

I will definitely be turning the milk blue, however, and painting funny spots on their face! Thanks Alice!

Glad to see you recognize the fact that all content can benefit from SEO techniques.

Concerning your thoughts on SEO Education - I have a question.

Do you guys think it would be helpful to have a live chat on Gather with an outside SEO expert? We'd be happy to bring someone in for that experience if you think it would be widely attended and appreciated across the community.

Also - I have to correct Kevin in his assumption that you need to write about Howard Stern or Celebrity Gossip in order to benefit from SEO traffic. It's true, that if you want to get many, many views very, very quickly you should write about "breaking news." However, there is also a great SEO benefit to those people who write "evergreen" content, such as the stuffed green peppers recipe example given by Sassy Cat. If you write "How To" articles, or about parenting, relationships, health, wellness, travel - these articles will continue to draw page views all year round. If you write about current events, movies, sports, holiday recipes - you'll likely get a lot of hits very quickly... and then that will be it. Two different techniques - both work. In fact, over the long haul - evergreen content will be much more valuable to you from a point earning perspective.

Both Sassy Cat and Kevin believe that Gather compensates views from Gather members at a higher rate than views from non-Gather members. Once again, please allow me to set the record straight. That is absolutely not the case. Gather points are earned, in part, due to page views. It makes no difference whatsoever if those page views come from members or non-members. That's just the fact. I do believe that Gather did compensate member views at a higher rate back in the early days... 2006 and early 2007, but that just no longer the case.

Hi Lune- Thanks for restarting this conversation and asking some really good questions. First of all, as I think you've heard, keywords are different than tags. Keywords are the actual words you use to attract traffic. For example, today I shared a little post about the new Apple iPhone. The SEO keywords in this post were "Apple iPhone". They are totally different from tags. Tags are simply a way to organize content on Gather. Keywords are the words you select to get attention from Search Engines.

Before she even walked on the stage last night I said to my husband. "What do you think, will she be fat or skinny?" Then I was mad at myself for being so shallow. But you couldn't deny it... she definitely looked chubby. However, she's got "mad skills" - the girl can sing! And she seems relatively normal too. That counts for something!
