You might be thinking of West Monroe and the paper mill. Ruston has no significant odor that I know of.
Anyway...
The acting workshop continues and we have already put together and broadcast (on cable access) a short film that introduced the contemporary service at Trinity Methodist.

Thank you for the posts.
I just wanted to give you another update.
My son was never put on medication and now that he is 11 years old he has matured and behaves like any other 11 year old no better no worse.
He does get bored, restless, and could not care less about homework...like most little boys his age.
But he makes good grades and is very healthy and happy.

I agree with those who did not automatically associate the "monkey" with a race but rather a level of intelligence.
I call my youngest son "monkey" all the time because he is very active, athletic and is quite the climber and occasionally acts a bit silly. :)

Hello Aaron,
I have spent the better part of an hour this morning skimming through old Writer's Digests and doing a little research on an online writing class from a WD advertisement when I thought..."Hey! I wonder what my gang at Gather is up to and what they'd recommend as far as writing courses!" This is how I came across your article.
Your comparison's are EXACTLY an example of what my friend and I were just talking about! Which was basically "What is more interesting...getting right to business...or "painting" a scene to put the reader in the setting.
Personally, as a reader, I prefer getting right into the story.
Your observations and descriptive abilities are wonderful and important and could easily be dispersed throughout the chapter.
In comparison...I was actually more interested in a reverend named Nahum Hardina pastoring a Methodist Church than the weather!
Consider this...the weather is a living thing and another character in this story...let this character reveal itself as it grows building on its intensity in the same sublte way you introduced the reverand.
Now...Get back to work! ;)

Great moment and how special of you to capture it on film.
My precious Yellow Lab, Bean smelled like a wet wool rug during her last months of life and whenever anyone commented on it...I said it was the smell of love!

Actually, Lily was a very good house rabbit. He enjoyed hanging out in the kitchen with me or sitting by the air conditioner's intake vent. He did not potty in the house and would go to the door when he wanted out.
Duzo, however, was a bad house rabbit and chose to potty EVERYWHERE! :0 ;)
