I am having a new hip on the 21st of this month and can't wait to be pain free and active once again. Fortunately I have good health insurance.

This is a wonderful poem and I enjoyed Barbara's very much also. Nobody sees who we really are. The thing is we should go out and be ourselves, outrageous and outspoken. Wouldn't it be fun?

Madame, Your winters are certainly cold in Minnesota. I went there once in the winter and remember the ground especially - rock hard and frozen with snow - crunchy when I walked. I would hate to think of anyone having to be homeless there. We are the richest country in the world. We should not have any homeless people.

I like to have regular conversations with God usually at night. I do pray a lot for others and also ask for things for myself (i.e. "Please help me to accept this situation with grace..."). I pray a lot for my kids since I love them so much. I also generally end my God conversations with an entreaty for God to look out for all those who are suffering.

Human's whats are animals? Human's written like that is possessive. Do you mean are humans (plural of human) animals? The Grammar Princess says yes - we are mammals.

I enjoyed your article and fully understand your concern about people looking at you as if you are normal and not understanding that you have a serious disease. I am in the same boat with a different disease called Sjogren's Syndrome. I have written about it in several articles on Gather. It's hard when you have something that doesn't show on the outside but can cause lots of problems with fatigue, strength, etc. I will be thinking of you.
