I made this soup for Shabbat dinner this week. It was delicious. I used a large can of crushed tomatoes, about 1 tsp. of the curry powder, about 2 tsp of paprika, and maybe 1/8-1/4 cup of basalmic vinegar (it was the last of the bottle) and just a little salt and pepper. I used parve chicken boullion powder to make the stock. I used 3 carrots (because I like them) instead of 2.
It tasted yummy and was very filling. It made enough that I froze several small containers to take for lunches.

Madame Donna, I tried this for dinner last night and it was delicious! Thanks. Question - have you ever tried it without the nuts? My husband is not fond of nuts in his food and also sometimes people have nut allergies. So I wondered how this would turn out without them.

Shawn, I disagree. There are many citizens who may be law-abiding but may not have the appropriate training or may have behavioral issues which make it very unsafe for the rest of the community if they own and carry a firearm. They may be law-abiding and then, for some strange reason, just flip out due to some type of unusual stress in their life. We see this all the time. People who have something bad happen which they can't cope with and then they go and shoot their family or employer or someone.

Thanks Regine. This book does not give details about rules of keeping Kosher - it is mainly about nutrition and eating healthfully within rules of keeping Kosher (Kashrut). There are other books available that can tell you how to keep Kosher. However, this is a great book for basic information on nutrition and with practical advice on eating for healthfully.
