I know exactly what you mean. We seem to have a lot of 'one of those days'. When a bunch comes together repeatedly, that is what makes you want to scream. But what is really bad is when you come to accept 'one of those days' as normal, and you don't want to scream. You just sigh and go on.

My favorite soup recipe is one of my mother's recipes, and it isn't really a written recipe. About once a week, she would make what could best be called 'leftover soup'. She would take any leftover vegetables and leftover meat that she had, add fresh vegetables or meat as needed, and some of her home-canned tomato juice. From this she made soup, and it is still some of the best soup I have ever eaten. Sometimes there would be leftover roast beef in the soup. Just whatever she had. It was great! About the only seasonings that she would add were salt and pepper. A good recipe for using leftovers in these tight economic times.

I didn't particularly know Rob, but it is sad to lose a member of our Gather community. Because we are a community. Though Rob is gone, his words continue. Wouldn't be nice if Gather would make an area to keep some of the best posts by Gather community members who have moved on from their earthly lives? Maybe if enough of us ask, they might do it.

Been here since 2005, so I guess that makes me a veteran. I LIKE the new upgrades. Like the new Gather homepage. Over the years, you keep working to make Gather better. Congrats Gather crew!!! You did it again! You make Gather even better yet.

Yes, my first car was definitely of the Fast and Furious caliber. It was a Chevy Cavalier Z24 with a V6 under the hood, and boy would it zip when you mashed down on the accelerator. Hey, guess what! It still does!!! We still drive that car, and it still zips pretty good for a 20 plus year old car.

Well, when I read this, the first song that came into my mind was:

In the ghetto by Elvis Presley

It is a sad and tragic story that they song tells. But I listen to the song today and hope that the tragic cycle of crime and death portrayed in the song are becoming no more. But Elvis sings it beautifully.

Definitely not overrated. The guy has real talent. He took a classic song by a famous group, and made it his own. If he had an album out, I would buy it. Definite star factor here.

I guess I would have to say that my favorite high school memory is graduating. I didn't really enjoy high school all that much. Lost my cap tassle on the day of graduation, so that memory is sort of so-so. Yep, my favorite would definitely be graduating. And you what, I am now friends with a lot of my graduating class on facebook now.

Your mention of ping o matic got me curious, so I did a quick search. Here is the website:

And here is their explanation of what they do:

"Ping-O-Matic is a service to update different search engines that your blog has updated.
We regularly check downstream services to make sure that they're legit and still work. So while it may appear like we have fewer services, they're the most important ones.

Make sure to only ping specialized services if they're relevant to your blog, otherwise you'll cause an undue burden on them."

I submitted 2 of my groups that only I post to in to them. Once you submit it, it takes you to a page that you bookmark. You just click on that link when you add new posts, and they automatically send it out for you. Sounds neat.

Confirms what I already suspected - the so-called health care reform will do nothing but make a giant mess of things. And our president is shoving it thru with a bulldozer.
