True that Charles. Liberals love to tell others what they should or shouldn't do but they themselves are not subject to those same rules. Al Gore tells everyone how bad we are for our "carbon footprint" while he flies around the world in private jets and lives in a 25,000 SF mansion that uses as much electricity as a small village. Yeah RF blah blah, the word death panel wawsn't used in the bill. Lawyers write these things so they use euphemisms. (a euphemism is when someone wants to say something people don't want to hear, so they other words to say the same thing. Get it RF?) I relaize I'm using large words here RF but take your time and look em up.

Bottom line is this; this is a dead issue. The democrats in the senate are running away from it. AS much as moonbats like Rf want to blame Republicans for the failure of this abomination the fact is the Dems contrrol both branches of congreess and the white house. The republicans can't do a damn thing to stop anything. This bill has failed under the weight of it's own disgraceful design.

Bruce no one ever accused most of our elected officials of having to much intellingence. I mean look at some of the loons the Dems have repeatedly put in office;
Barney Frank, who's lover ran a gay escort service out of Frank's Georgetown Apartment. Frank was basically his pimp.

The late Ted Kennedy, who in a drunken stupor drove his car of a bridge and left his mistress inside it to drown while he swam back to his hotel to hide.

the list goes on and on. these are just the ones that have been elected more than 5 times.

Yeah these are the people I want making law governing my healthcare, especially since they are exempting themselves from what they plan to force on everyone else/.

The issue at hand Anthony is that 80% of the people in the country are happy with their healthcare. The government wants to blow up the system and take control of it to alledgedly take care of the small minority who are uninured. Let's not forget that this bill as written now will only cover about 40% of the uninsured according to the democrats themselves. You might be comfortable with Ezeikiel Emmanuel making healthcare decisions for you and deciding when you "are no longer a contributor, but a taker" and thus should not be given a hip replacement or a pacemaker because the return on investment is too low, but 80% or more of us aren't. If this was truly about controlling costs they would be discussing tort reform and making insurance companies able to compete nationally rather than regionally. Make it illegal to turn down anyone regardless of preexisting conditions, much like they do in auto insurance with shared high risk pools. But none of that is being discussed, because this is about 1 thing; CONTROL. Democrats or in thie case of Obama, socialists hate individual freedom almost as much as they hate facts and truth. The piece of garbage occupying the White House now wants to control every aspect of your life that he possibly can. What better way to control people than to have the power to give or deny health services.

Ken, you have hit the nail right on the head. This whole boondoggle is just a transparent attempt by the government to take control of even more of peoples everyday lives.. There is nothing the Demmocrats hate more than people having choices that they don't have control over. You see you and I are far to stuppid to take care of ourselves and our money. They on the othern hand are immentaly more qualified to make those decisions for you.

Sheryl, it's obvious by your clueless comment that you have not read the bill. I on the other hand have read several substantial portions of house bill and it did in fact REQUIRE end of life counseling, or "death panel" if you will. It is modelled after the health program currently in operation in Oregon, which is one of the states that have legalized euthanasia. So please dear girl don't spout off about that which you know nothing of. I guess that would preclude you from saying anything at all, but give it try, that way people will only think you're an idiot rather than KNOWING it .

Just as a quick aside here, frequent readers of my articles here on Gather will notice the lack of response from Obamabots. Usually an article pointing out his outright lies and hypocritical positions would elicit dozens of flame responses from his clueless sycophants. It is further evidence of the rapid erosion of his support. No longer are independent voters enthralled with his smooth teleprompter generated speeches or the good feelings of voting for an african american for president, despite his complete and utter lack of qualifications for the job. It is evident to any clear thinking person that this man has not the slightest clue as to what he is doing. He has made the mistake of believeing his own fawning and (mostly made-up) press clippings and hype. The wheels are coming of this administration and doing so incredibly rapidly.

VOTE AMERICAN IN 2010. Vote against every single incumbent who doesn't vote his constituencey.

Nothing much gets by you James. If you go back and look over previous articles you will notice a recurring theme. This President is far and away the worst of my life time. He is well on his way to creating a third world economy out of our country. His utter lack of regard for the will of the people and the Constitution is stunning. As bad as I thought this clown would be he has far outstripped my worst fears. This is just the latest in string of broken promises and anti americanism that is rampant in this administration

Charles, I think the question about Panetta is somewhat moot. If he doesn't play ball with Obama he will be destroyed by Rahm Emmanuel. This White House is by far the most vindictive and coercive one that I can remember. They have absolutely no compunction whatsoever about ruining peoples lives who don't fall in step with them. The so called "blue dog" democrats who are trying to distance themselves from the heathfare abomination have been called to the White House and told in no uncertain terms that if they do not get in line and support the plan the DNC will run someone against them in the next election. So basically what you have is the White House telling them tro either ignore the will of their constituents and risk being bounced in a general election or listen to the voters and risk being replaced in the primary. Kind of makes you wistful for the clueless stumbling of the Carter years doesn't it? At least that incompetence was seemingly out of stupidity. This White House is just plain power crazed and will brook no opposition.

Nothing new her Rob. His sycophants have been using the race card to silence critics since he started running. (see comments above by two of his most loyal rumpswabs). It COULDN'T possibly be the fact that this fool is bankrupting the country and doing his level best to install government control over every aspect of peoples life. Nah that couldn't be it. Must be a race thing.......... The ffact of the matter is the Great and Powerful Obama has been revealed to be a fraud, and now the race baiters who helped get him elected are returning to form and doing the one thing they know how to do: yell racisim every chance they get. The reason for this is simple, they can't debate facts that are immutable, Facts like polling showing that 15% of voters who supported him in the election now say they would vote for ANY republican over him. The fact that a growing majority of Americans disapprove of the job he is doing. The fact that the an overwhelming majority of Americans now are opposed to another government takeover this time of our healthcare. The good news is by all appearances his tenure will mirror that of mentor Jimmy Carter and be a 1 term thing. The bad news being that by then he will probably have run a deficit approaching 20 trillion $
