Uncle, I will never know what you are feeling, and I dont think that your talking about Sid is asking for sympathy but more an articulating your feelings. I don't think that is wrong, each one deals with giref in his or her own way.
Sid was the kind of person you felt you never had enough time with. I can vouch for that completely. I wish I'd had more time to get to know him, the last I spoke to him we had a an argument and then I hear this, knowing that I am never going to be able to apologise to him is one of the hardest things I've had to do!
I just hope that with time the pain just numbs into a dull ache that you can live with, rather than turning into a monstrous cloud of sadness. Sid will always be around in our hearts and will be kept alive with our love for him, that is the least we can do at this point in time.

great love/longing? spoken of with such eloquence and simplicity... I like it...

This kind of spiritual need for a person sometimes is coupled with this conflict with doing the "right" in a purely religious sense of the word but sometimes is coupled with a depth of emotion that is greater than religion and all the associated drama etc.,

I've missed reading your work... this one is fantastic!

erm... this is not a spiritual quest... but a more 'Good vs Evil' kind of thing... there are too many sub plots to include here, so I have to limit myself to either the story of his love for his wife Sita, or I have to talk about his victory over the man he was born to destroy.. I am still not sure... I guess it will work itself out as it gets written....

I like the no boy pretender... it is a lovely piece... I see a man who is too stumped by his reaction to a so called boy... it is too sweet!! I can see the look in his eye...

Interesting... I think I can say the same about the temples they are building these days too... it looks something like the old temples I am used to but, there is something wrong and I am not really sure what... these structures don't have stories, they seem like assembly line products, and isn't that a telling sign of our times!!!

Ronald, this poem as such is based on an ancient Indian myth... and it is one of the legends behind the festival of Deepavali ( the festival of lights)... It is a long long story and there are many sub plots... but for now this is the skeleton of the whole poem... I need to flesh it out... A LOT... but I am wondering if this is a good enough skeleton!

I am not trying to be the expert, nor am I trying to be ingratiating because you are a valued connection of mine here on Gather... just something I want to say, because I see a fabulous story here. The language I felt could be a bit more on the elaborate side, what I read just now was not sparkly enough. Not that reading your words should become some form of brain exercise, I feel that you should probably describe the weather and the landscape a little, have a bit of a general broader introduction before talking about either Haya or Jason...

John... If I were to read this as a poem, away from all the references to the ones you've made I'd still think its great... What I like is how you've managed to give the reader a vision that is your own, but is still an idea that is 90 years old...

Sounds interesting, no more driving licenses too... it really does sound good, all you will need in order to own a car would be money... hmm... I wonder what would happen if this did become a reality, I shudder to think of things in my country where the lane system is unheard of and everyone seems to be driving by their own self scripted traffic guideline!!!
