I wish I could claim the long tirade, but I wasn't the one to do that. I posted the short comment about not understanding snow.

As for your computer guru question -- I am so the wrong one to ask. Twenty years ago I knew more than 99% of the people out there. Today? 99% of the people know more than I.

Good freewrite, except that I have no idea what kissera is. You know me, I have to try any recipe I see and I can't find anything about that. Spelling thing maybe?

Nah, you really need to try it in the next few days because you'll still be thinking about what you said here. That should give you several different things to say.

Trust me, the editing self will punish you each time you try it until you stuff his/her head into the snow and just give it a go.

Welcome to the group, Michael.

You said you’re thinking about punctuation. What are you thinking about it? Why didn't you write that down? You’re supposed to be recording whatever pours out of you mind. Don’t think about punctuation unless you’re going to include your thoughts about it in your freewrite.

“Doing it right?” There is no right or wrong as long as you do an honest freewrite. Don’t go back and edit it other than putting in some para breaks (I’m guilty of that) to make reading easier. Try your darnedest to keep your finger off the backspace key. That’s probably the hardest thing for most of us to do.

It’s supposed to be similar to brainstorming or free association -- just throw out whatever pops into your mind and don’t worry about whether it makes sense or not. If, in the middle of your typing, something pops into your head about green actually being red, type it that way. Who knows, it might end up being a story about color blindness or something weird.

Much better than my first (or second through fifth) freewrite, so hang in there and keep it up. I can guarantee that nobody will ever give you a negative comment about such efforts.

My wife and I went on a cruise every year. Love them. We took the three or four day cruise from L.A. to Ensenada.

Whoa! this cannot possibly be the worst you've ever written as it is phenomenal. You definitely nailed the prompts because I gasped loudly several times and -- what an ending!
