P.S. All leather exterior (dinged and nicked and it doesn't appear that it has ever been cleaned), with beautifully patinaed brass latches (albeat, some rust). I couldn't have asked for a better piece. It's heavy though, even without anything inside. Really don't know how anyone managed to travel like this...

Any suggestions for getting this cleaned/restored without destroying its intrinsic value? One of the leather handles has torn nearly all of the way through, so I'd like to "keep it maintained" at least.

Richie Rich! What a flash back. Great buy on the comic books. The collector market for comics is saturated with product right now, but give it a decade and I'd expect the price for these will go up. Meanwhile, great gifts at 25 cents a pop. Great deal.

I bought a steamer trunk at a yard sale a few weeks ago that I love! Has linen drawers inside, and original hangers on the right side (the truck opens on the side). Plus it has the original travel stickers from the turn of the center (all U.S. side though). It's a Hartmann Wardrobe Trunk, circa 1910. When she said $15, I said "sold." Wasn't sure how I'd get it home... but I did. : )

You can change your viewing options, if you want. Just go to "View" at the top of your Explorer or Firefox browser, then click "Zoom" and then "Zoom In." Does that help?
