However, the Bible does not seem to agree with your interpretation of the events.
If we look in the Book of Acts Chapter 10 we see Cornelius and the first Gentiles being filled with the Holy Spirit and speaking in tongues for the very first time.
But from the narrative it appears that Cornelius was already speaking the native language of the Jews who were gathered there with Peter and then began to speak a totally foreign language after being filled with the Holy Ghost.
How do you reconcile this with what you said in your comment?
