Carol, thank you for posting this. I keep pushing for education. I don't torture myself with "what ifs" but I wonder sometimes..... would the outcome have been different if the two people my son told about his planned suicide would have had some education on suicide. They were 17 and 19 and had no idea what to do with the thoughts my son shared with them.

Our children are at risk and we don't give them the tools to help. There should be mental health screening available in schools. Along with the "baby-think-it-over", suicide awareness could be taught in healthful living classes. Our local high school dismissed my concerns that this needed to be addressed.

Keep writing, keep sharing.

Thank you, Jai. Thank you for thinking of me. I hope you and yours are well.

I am giving a talk on suicide for a class on "Death, Dying, and Living" at the university, this week. Prayers for my words to be a blessing would be appreciated. I miss my beautiful boy so much.... I hold close the knowledge that he is at peace and I will see him again.

Thank you again for all your kindness. I miss being here at Gather. I have been working so much that I just have no time. As the cold weather comes I will be here more.

The change took place while I was studying for my OCN exam. I was looking forward to spending time reading articles and looking at photos, but I have hardly spent any time here since the changes. The only reason I am here commenting tonight is to help folks with triple points.
