I am the granddaughter of a soldier that fought in WWII in Greece and Crete, and the great granddaughter of a soldier who fought at Gallipoli in WWI (both Australian army). Luckily both those men came home. I am always profoundly grateful for the sacrifice made by those who did not. This is a moving tribute, Verie. It is so important that there always be those that remember.

I think it is better to say that humans *were* a natural part of the earth. That intelligence thing has changed that over the years and now we live in a way that has completely divorced from the cycles that rule this planet.

Cow hooves are the preferred chew toy here, and we always need to make sure that there are four if they are to be doled out. Rusty, the old man who really couldn't care at all, gets a look of extreme hurt if he is not offered one. He will gently take it and lay it on the pillow next him, and then wag his tail wildly looking extremely pleased about life. Someone else will eventually get his but it doesn't matter. All things must be equal.
