Hey David. the reason why it's already the season finale is that shooting stopped last year during the writers strike.. no one crossed a picket line. That's why you didn't see *24* for over 12 months.. it's just them wrapping up the season from last year that had barely gotten shot-- only a few episodes and this is the end. However the great thing is that Matt Nix had a head start on getting season 3 to paper..

I talked to Bruce on the phone and he is sooooooooooooooo funny. You have to listen to the podcast to get the inuendo and underlying humor.. but he's fabulous. Gabrielle Anwar is somewhat similar.. she's much lighter in person and she took to Fiona and ran with it.....
and she finds herself acting "fiona-like" where she winds up getting a ticket for driving like Fiona!

this was the most fun --- other than the Charles Dickens Masterpiece Classics I have had..

I saw the movie yesterday and I will be posting a review on it-- on my perspective.
Have to agree that the song was not at all "bond"-like and the restrospective of the opening titles featuring nudes (again) is so typical Bond but not like the first Daniel Craig flick. (also note that the 007 bullseye shoot sequence is at the end of the movie -- not the beginning)

the editing was too tight, too close, too fast so that one doesn't really see the danger -- until and unless the pull back for the wide angle shots. I must say that while I thought there was a plot, there was a real LACK of depth in it. Other Bond films had more explanation and detail about the villains and "dastardly" plot.. and yet this one never did till the end. It did leave a number of loose ends that allow for other Bond films to wrap up.
Given that they killed off one girl a la Goldfinger though dipped in oil, was a bit less than impressive. I can't say that this was a great film.
I did watch it. I went through an entire box of popcorn and thought it was edge of the seat but I really feel that this director -- and editor-- need to look that the entire thematic sequence of the Bond films. Given that this is merely days after Vesper has been killed, the last director should have been pulled into this project to help tie up the loose ends and give Bond the depth of emotion to play out.
I wish I could say it deserved an A-.. though Daniel Craig did his best. The best part about it was the machinations of the government officials. That's as true to life as it gets.

The great thing about this Masterpiece Contemporary is the acting! The actress portraying Whitehouse is Julie Walters who did an amazing job. I got so caught up in her portrayal -- that she was riviting.. and so much like the real Whitehouse according to my research.

Because they would *know* he had cut it out. He had no passport, without an "alternate identity, he could go nowhere. However that's not to say it couldn't be done.. The killer was a freelancer in the employ of the UK government. They wanted to smoke out Michael. They wanted to get what they could from the mathmetician.. and prevent Michael from becoming a martyr

What's really interesting is that I have seen celebrities and others in LA/Hollywood who have done a "wee bit too much " plastic surgery and boy does it show. Why would anyone do that to themselves. You work out to keep your muscles fit and to stay slim. Why not work out the muscles in your face?
There are facials out there that do the same thing: Arcona's trademark facial is like aerobic exercise for the face. There are the ones using galvanic current-- however the price tags run from 175 to 250 dollars each for a facial. That's a bit steep for your average citizen.

Wny not try this? It's not very expensive and I have seen it work. I did the eyebrow exercise with some friends and we were surprised at how well it worked... and it did last for a while too.

worth thinking about. I hate the thought of surgery.

Brenda this really exists in the UK right now. They have MUCH going on there in terms of the video/internet database. It was in one of the newspapers (LA Times I believe.. when a GPS device in a rental car indicates when you pass a video cam. and it kept going off every couple of blocks or more often in London.
So this is very much a part of your life-- or will be . Pat is correct. the DB isn't about a cashless society.. it doesn't matter if you use public transport or personal cars.. they are going to get you either way..

This is a quite different character for Carlyle. You can't tell which side he is on. He keeps switching and the characters -- all of them-- keep taking on different aspects and you are never quite sure who's the good guy and who's the bad. It got really *edge of the seat* at the end.

I hear you Deborah. When I don't get offered or sent a set of DVD's, that's a very telling sign-- particularly when they want me to write about it.
What am I writing about? This isn't a review, it's an announcement. It's much like what I had to sit through regarding SMART PEOPLE when it was so boring and stupid that I could no longer watch it. Will some people like it? Yes! .Will others hate it? yes! It's not a one size fits all world.. thankfully I have lots more that I have seen that I can't wait to get past other assignments to feature.
