Ishmael - I recently read the excerpt of your book in the New York Times Magazine and was deeply impacted by your words. So often the terrors that go on in this world are unknown to too many. I am looking forward to reading your book - I bought one this morning at my local Starbucks.

Will Smith's son Jaden is adorable in this movie - he did a great job. I also thought Will Smith's other serious dramatic role, "Six Degrees of Separation" was phenomenal. I'm looking forward to seeing him on the stage at the Oscars. Regarding Smith's past roles, I think "Men in Black" would have been a non-event without him.

Joel - This is a wonderful piece of photojournalism. I was in Hong Kong about 2 years ago and your pictures are bringing back so many great memories. I had so many amazing meals there of the freshest fish and the buildings - especially lit up at night are spectacular. The thing I loved most about Hong Kong is how much it really centers on the water and how the boats are as much a part of people's lives there as taxis and subways are for us here. Thanks for this.

I HATE cilantro. Hate it more than any other flavor. It taste like bad soap. What's worse is when restaurants don't say it's in certain items on the menu and I get some random tuna sashimi dish with cilantro - GROSS! But I'm a foodie at heart - and will try anything - as long as there's no cilantro in it.

I saw this 60 Minutes report earlier this week and was amazed at the problems existing today as a result of China's policy from 25 years ago. In particular, I felt sad for these poor women who were sold to families as babies and raised to marry sons that they didn't want anything to do with.

I'm particularly enjoying George Mason's move into the Final Four because it makes for much more interesting sports news. Today's Wall Street Journal features an article on the "forgotten Founding Father" George Mason who chose not to sign the constitution. And on The Daily Show I was fully entertained by Stephen Colbert's explanation of why George Mason was the Snow White team - not the Cinderella team. Anyway - thanks for writing this.

I listened to Freakonomics recently on a car ride from New York to Boston and it was great. Because I drive a lot, listening to books on tape is a way for me stay on top of pop culture and listen to books I might not have time to sit down and read. I'm driving back and forth from Boston to New York next week - any recommendations?
