I don't know if I'd call it "incredible"... he knew he was going to get fouled, leaned into it, and just threw the ball up hoping it would go in.

As much as it hurts, you have to admit Manning looked almost Brady-like in the 4th quarter. I think that's what Belichick saw. Manning was going to move the ball, and the Pats defense was dog-tired. I still think you take that risk over the possibility of handing the ball over at your own 28 yard line. I'm not saying what Bill did was right... but I understand. :(

Thanks for the article, Peter. I have a pumpkin beer brewing right now, and used pumpkin pie filling for the pumpkin flavoring (along with other spices to give it that cinnamon-y, nutmeg-y flavor). I've also make blueberry beer using a blueberry syrup extract.

Thanks Ashley. I actually fell asleep before the end too! Unfortunately, the big difference between my projection and what actually happened is that in real life Atlanta covered the spread. I apologize to the gamblers in the audience.

I don't have a problem with the SATs either. However, many colleges have even stopped relying on them as an evaluation tool, instead focusing on transcripts, essays and personal interviews to evaluate prospective students.

I do have a problem with other "standardized" tests like the MCAS exam we have in Massachusetts. These exams are starting to be used as a prerequisite for graduation, but they are also used as an evaluation tool for school funding. Teachers are being forced to abandon their usual curriculum to "teach to the test" to ensure their students pass, but some schools are actually penalized in the form of fewer tax dollars awarded because that money gets funneled to "higher-need" schools. Its a juggling act, and unfortunately our children are the ones paying the price.
