That first one, it's plane to see what's about to happen.
The second, I'm suddenly reminded of a Kenny Rogers song, "It's a fine time to leave me 'Loose Wheel."
The third one, "Dog gone it, I just don't know."
The fourth one, well, it's time to "wave" goodbye.
And the fifth, that guy should've worn his sandals but no, he had to go parachuting wearing his alligator shoes.

That's it, now I am must tell my herd of reindeer that we won't be going out this Christmas Eve, it's too rough a world out there. Wait a minute, where am I again? Oh yeah, the South Pole. Sometimes, I don't know if I am coming or going. And speaking of narcissistic behavior, I detest it, really do... Which reminds me! Some folks think that I am narcissistic.

Some people think I am but just because I'm a genius and extremely handsome with huge muscles and a dark tan. They think I'm a conceited jerk but I'm far from conceited. I'm one of the most modest persons you'd ever meet if you ever get the good fortune to meet me. If you were ever so lucky to meet me, you'd be surprised to see how down to earth I really am. After you bow and kiss my feet, you'd see that I'm no different than you. Although everybody is wanting of my attention, I'd be sure to give you my full attention as I sign my autograph for you so that you'd have something to frame when you get back home. . .

Okay, now that I cleared up that unfortunate misunderstanding, let me tell you a little about myself - here I go: "I am Great!" I really mean it! I am great at a lot of things - like giving huge tips to hard-working waiters and waitresses; I'm great at opening doors for people, especially the elderly; I'm great at helping others when I see that they are over-burdened; I'm great at helping others understand that life could be so wonderful and not as dismal as one may think; I'm great at forgiving and not holding grudges. I'm great at being myself, oh yes I am . . . And if you still think I'm a jerk be sure you don't leave a tip on my table.... unless the table has turned of course.

I, too, am a Chicagoan - A remembrance:

Ah, how life sometimes can be so funny, even resembling a skit on Saturday Night Live or better yet, Sanford and Son. How I look back at my early years and recall the sometime comedic overtures, the periodic reprieve from a world that resembled Dark Shadows or worse yet, Days of Wine and Roses.

I recall the time my brother came home without his pants. My brother not much a fighter was de-pantsed by a few of the hooligans in the neighborhood. If it hadn't happened during one of the coldest days in Chicago's young history, I may have laughed all the way to the snow banks. My mother, drunk as usual, nearly pissed in her hand-me-downs when she saw my brother running into the house, his thing nearly frost-bitten. I know if she were sober she wouldn't have laughed at all, but when drunk, she'd find humor in tragedy and sorrow in happier times.

I had enough of the hooligans picking on my older brother so I headed out in search of the perpetrators. Through the frigid air I scurried. Soon, I came upon a tree. I looked up. Hanging there were my brother's jeans. I wasn't much of a climber but I did what I could to bring down the pants. I got them down to half-mast when the hooligans appeared. I knew I had to fight to my death if need be. There was no way that they would remove me of my Levi's. I had fought hard to get them in the first place. I had to fight the crowd at the Salvation Army, who like me, were down on their luck, and hadn't the money to buy new clothes from the places like Wieboldt's or Sears or if you were one of the rich kids-The Marshall Field's Store.

I fought the three punks with the few lessons I had learned from my father before he left us on that dreary Thanksgiving Day. My father was not only a professional body builder but he had also been a Golden Gloves boxer. But that was before he took to the bottle and his only opponents became Jimmy, Jack and Bud, mostly Bud though. In the long run it was Mr. Bud who put up the best fight and in the end he not only delivered a T.K.O. to my father but also his death.

Hillary is from Chicago (Park Ridge, a suburb that adjoins Chicago). My sister and brother-in-law live two blocks from the home she grew up in. And as First Lady, to celebrate her 50th Birthday she came back home - to her childhood home and guess what? My brother-in-law catered the event.

Yes, the Bush Administration had spent your children's retirement, sad, so sad, really it is! I lose hours of sleep thinking about the quagmire that this country is in right now, not fair, not fair at all. Again, the greedy-eyed bastards got richer while folks, like you and me, are left holding the bag. Not fair, not fair at all.

I am ecstatic that Obama, who knows well enough the prosperity of the Clinton years, is about to take office. A sense of optimism has returned to my way of thinking. Actually, I can think again, the way I'm supposed to think.

For those who still are keen on challenging Obama's agenda I wish much luck! He is, unequivocally, a man for the people, by the people. We cannot dispute it. He, like me, has a distaste for greed and selfishness. He is a man of opportunity, intent on providing folks like you and me, a clearer road.

Abolish the detour, push back the obstacles that lie upon our path, we need to make headway and reach our dearest of destinations.

I am excited, so much, that I went out and bought myself a new "Mickey Mouse" watch, - five dollars at the Discount Store.

I am so excited I even took up the Tango! And refitted my record collection - with uppity beats and soothing melodies.

I even took myself out to dinner - the perfect date.

I am so excited , knowing that a fellow Chicagoan knows what's best for me, my neighbors and even the dog-eared hooligans on the street corners, whose wares were brought illicitly across the borders - Mexico, Thailand, Afghanistan. And whose guns were inscribed with epitaphs of hatred and ignorance.

Ah, I am so glad that I am a Chicagoan, born and raised and it pays me great steed, knowing that I can raise my chalice again.
