Holiday times can be invigorating, exciting, busy, fun-filled, even ecstatic -- when life is giving you everything you desire. But what happens when you are facing the holidays all alone, after a painful breakup, difficult divorce, or death of a loved one? What happens when your finances are in bad shape and you are on the brink of bankruptcy? What happens when your body hurts because you have an injury, an illness or an emotional sense of futility about life?
When holiday time is here, we have many choices. If we are feeling all alone, we can choose to hybernate and sulk or go out and help somebody else. We can offer our services at a church or synagogue or soup kitchen. We can volunteer to work with a suicide hotline or volunteer to bring some cheer to people who are confined to a hospital bed.
If you feel down or sad at any point during this holiday, just watch this video. You can watch it over and over and over. And if you think you have problems that cannot be overcome, imagine what your life would be like if you had been born with the disabilities of this amazing man.
Nick Vujicic has no arms and no legs - and - he enjoys his life to the fullest. So what's stopping you?
Bring gratitude and joy back into your life, in case it has been lacking. Enjoy what there is to enjoy and share what you can with others. Remember this video when you momentarily forget to be grateful. I know I will.
