On 6/26/95 after a "Grateful Dead" concert in Washington, DC a young man was forced to hitchike to his home. He was picked up by a man in Greenville County Virginia. The driver of the van fell asleep at the wheel, and both he and his passenger were killed. The passenger had no identification on him. He did have two ticket stubs from the concert in his pocket along with this note: "To Jason. Sorry we had to go. See you around. Caroline O. and Caroline T." There was a phone number on the note with the prefix 914. No area code was written on the note. The Greatful Dead's next concert was in Auburn Hills Michigan, this guy was hitchiking South, and got a ride from a man who lived in South Carolina. The driver's family has no idea who he is.

He has natural red hair, very curly, brown eyes and his left ear was pierced, but he wasn't wearing an earring-it might have been lost in the accident. He was between 16-22 years old, 5'8"-5'9" 169 lbs. He was wearing blue jeans, FILA athletic shoes size 111/2, a necklace and a 1995 30th anniversary tie-dyed t-shirt with the Grateful Dead logo. Police traced his ticket stubs to a man in Pennsylvania who brought 20 tickets with him to the concert. He doesn't remember who he sold tickets to that day. Authorities believe  he is from the southern part of our Country. If any of this is ringing a bell, or if you think you might know him contact 1-800-THE-LOST, or you can contact The Office Of The Chief Medical Examiner in Virginia attention Cynthia Morrison. That phone number is1-800-447-1706. You can view his composite at www.doenetwork.org.Â
