There’s no place like home for the holidays and we want to help you get there! Together with Hallmark Gold Crown stores, we’re giving away one trip home for the holidays this year. You can win either a trip home for yourself or you can have someone you care about come home to see you!
Here’s how it works:
- You can enter once for either yourself or a friend/family member to win the trip
- To enter, repost the five survey questions below and provide answers to each question.
- Join the Find Meaning group by going to http://findmeaning.gather.com and clicking on “Join” in the top right column
- Return to this article and copy the five questions below
- Click “Share” at the top of the page and then choose “Share a Post”
- Paste the five questions into the article’s body and answer each one
- Title the article “My Home for the Holidays Survey” and use the tag “home2009” as one of your tags
- Under “Who Can View this Post” choose the Find Meaning group. Click “Submit” to share your post.
What you’ll win:
- Two (2) roundtrip tickets “home” to anywhere within the continental U.S. There are two tickets so the person traveling can bring a guest (Travelers must be able to travel home between 12/20/09 and 12/23/09; return date is flexible.)

How winners will be chosen:
- All survey articles must be posted to findmeaning.gather.com no later than 11:59 ET December 4th.
- Gather will choose the winner based on adherence to theme (40%), strength of narrative (30%) and creativity (30%)
- Two (2) runners-up will also be chosen to receive a Hallmark Gold Crown gift card valued at $100.
- Winners will be announced on December 9th at findmeaning.gather.com

As a condition of winning, the Gather member agrees to write three (3) posts sharing their Home for the Holidays experience with the community. The Gather team will work with the winning member to schedule each of these posts.

2.) Copy/Paste the 5 questions above and create a new article with them.
3.) Answer each question in your article
4.) Title it "My Home for the Holidays Survey" and tag it "home2009"

As someone who likes to win prizes, I've learned the disfference between two words "Contests" and "Sweepstakes." "Sweepstakes" means you just enter and hope to win. "Contest" means you enter, have to do something, and then hope to win. This one's a contest.
Yeah, I'm going to have to think this one over, too, but, once we figure out who and why, the rest isn't all that hard. ;)
But the people i want to see most during the holidays (my parents) cant travel due to health reasons and i cant travel at this time due to the same reasons.....

Yes, they would have to travel from the same airport. The idea is that the person traveling might want a guest or other family member to come with them. Or they could be a couple too. Those aren't guidelines but just the thought process behind them traveling together.

It doesn't have to be a plane trip. If she needed to fly to get home, that would be covered. But we'd pay the bus fare if the person didn't need to fly. Feel free to enter!

Yes, there are comments on this article as early as Nov. 2nd. That's the day the contest launched and this article was posted. We also launched ads that day promoting the contest around the site and sent a newsletter with an ad in it promoting the contest that week as well.

Any of the members who've entered before this date are not at any better advantage than any others who do so later so I'm not sure how you'd be at a disadvantage.
