Gather’s Hairy Halloween Photo Contest – Submit Pet Photos for a Chance to Win Gather Points™!

Halloween is right around the corner, which means it’s time to consider costume ideas for you and the kiddos. But people aren’t the only ones who should partake in the fun. Why not dress up your furry, feathered, and scaly friends as well?

Submit your favorite pics of your pets to Gather’s Hairy Halloween Photo Contest. We want you to share your favorite hairy, scary, and funny photos of your pets dressed up for Halloween.

 

 

Each photo you share counts as an entry. After Halloween, Gather Editorial will select the member who shares their favorite photo to receive 500 Gather Points™! Gather will then draw 20 participants who share photos to receive 100 Gather Points™ each.Here’s what you need to do for a chance to win:

  • Between today and Saturday, October 31st, share a photo or a post with photos of your pet to the group Pets.gather.com.*
  • Include the tag halloweenpet
  • Each photo published by itself and each post counts as one entry. Enter as many times as you'd like, but you can only win once

*Posts and Photos must be published to Gather between October 12th and October 31st, 2009. If you want to submit a photo already published to Gather, you must re-post it for it be counted as a contest entry.

Cute idea, but alas another contest that rodent owners can't participate in.

(I can't have traditional pets unless it's a certain breed of dog - which we are looking into adopting... but the fees are hundreds of dollars.)

The contest is open to all pet owners. No matter the type of pet you have, you're invited to enter. Even rodent owners can submit photos.

Hrm. The degu won't let you pick him up so dressing him up might be out.

The mice (females - all 24 of them) won't let you touch them.

The mouse - the ONLY MALE WILL let you hold him. So he's a possible canidate.

If I can find time to sew him a costume I'll post a photo.

I've decided if I do I'll do when I'm home alone. He might be more likely to humor me if Gideon's not all hyper around him. I can dress him again later so Gideon can see. :P

I actually already have some funny ideas for costumes just need to make them. Will be too small to sew so gluing them. (He's a "feeder" albino mouse)

I don't have any pics of my pets in costuems, but I've seen lots of great ones around Gather in the past!

There's no way my parrot Gonzo would stand for a costume. The dogs might deal with it though. I agree within Priscilla, Jax would have this thing easily won.

i always feel bad for the poor animals that have to be dressed up by their owners. seems a horrible torment to me.

once put a kitty sweater on my old Siamese, Tippy. She was so indignant, I could barely get it off before she disowned me.

I never thought of dressing up my pets before, well for Halloween. My daughter used to dress Chelsea in her doll clothes & wheel her around town in a baby carriage. What a great idea!
