Oh yeah, another one from my iPod. This is "Bittersweet" by the Hoodoo Gurus. It came out in 1985, and I think I actually first heard the Gurus on a program on one of our local PBS stations. Shortly before MTV existed, KBDI in Broomfield had a program called FM-TV. The program was later known as Teletunes and was broadcast late nights from 1981-2000 (I think). Most of the music on Teletunes fell into the new wave/alternative category.
The Hoodoo Gurus formed in Sydney, Australia, in 1981. Though some of the personnel has changed over the years, the front man Dave Faulkner is still belting out tunes like "Like Wow - Wipeout!" and "What's My Scene." They were inducted into Australia's ARIA Hall of Fame in 2007 and signed a new recording contract with Sony Music in April of 2009.
