The old TR6 -- before they went to the wedge -- was a beautiful car. It had great performance, good fuel economy, it was comfortable (except for me getting in and getting out --6' 3" with long legs).

Yes George! Those TR6's were excellent. I had a 72 MG Midget. Both of those cars were plagued with Lucas (Prince of Darkness) electronics.

the electronics of those British cars were made for colder climates and do not do well in SoCal!

That's where I was when I had my MG Midget. Not a real reliable car, but I loved it. After a hard day at work, I'd go out and put the top down and drive straight into wonderland.

Yes, I lived in Northern California then. I had the rag top and I had a hard top. The hard top went on about October and the rag top went on about March. It was a dream in the mountains, and I would head up to Mt. Shasta, Mt Lassen, over to Reno. or i would just go out and buzz around. Yes, driving for pleasure -- almost a thing of the past.
